Thanks guys; I know there has been a lot of work going on behind the scenes to sort that out.

Another fine day in the Dales, managed to get myself reprimanded for swearing in the pub afterwards, i can't take myself anywhere these days. Although technically i was correct- the Grisedale Horseshoe is a total effing beasting. An appearance from Wendy Dodds today after winning a prize at the Hobble yesterday, and a win for Sam Watson after doing the Trollers Trot the day before, but Jonny Bradshaw was pushing him all the way.

Looking over towards Sulber Nick, i estimate a 57% probablility that Stolly is in this picture somewhere :D

Good pics Mr B, but swearing in a pub? the very thought..
Thanks for the photos, even if for some reason the sequence has me towards the back!

The Duke of Edinburgh gives encouragement to the fell runners at Austwick
Got any more Wharfee? I'm a bit giddy this morning - still excited about finishing 4th lady yesterday, so the more pictures the better!

A very warm and sunny day dawned for the final counter of the Kendal Winter League. Having been out drinking on Chris Newman's stag do the previous evening, Sam Watson and Ted Mason were both feeling rougher than Ernie's coat, and the feeling of refreshment looked to be lacking a bit. Jonny Bradshaw, however, was looking very fleet-footed and took the win.
Some mountains. Don't know which ones, Wetherlam maybe, looked good though.

The pack of 4 chasing Bradshaw. Ted later commented on how good Mike's lines were off the cairn, carrying him to 2nd place.

It's the climax of the Winter League this Sunday with the Arant Haw Race and presentation. There will be refreshments available on the day....all contributions welcome - cakes, savouries etc.
Plus ............we are going to run a bring and buy table on the day so, if you have any unwanted running gear at home....perhaps kids have grown out of shoes/tops or you bought the wrong size etc........bring it along to the peoples Hall on Sunday and you may be able to pick up a bargain. All donations welcome. Any money we raise will go to Sport Relief. Please make sure contributions are clean and wearable.
If you are able to help on the day please let me know............we'll be getting to the hall around 10.30....there will be lots to do so just ask!
See you there - Tim

The KWL is going ahead this year, or so i've been told, and it starts with Scout Scar on Sun 6th Jan.
Race list is up here. Austwick is a tbc.
The Austwick venue, just like many other race venues that have been dropped over the years, was fine in the 'old days' when there was just a handful of runners at these events. One can't stop progress...not sure "progress" is the right word here...perhaps "regress" would be a better (for me at least).
Fairmile also has parking issues so they have dropped the juniors races this yr to ease on parking
The most obvious cause of parking problems at Austwick looked to be that people were parking on the section of Crummack Lane beyond Sowerthwaite Farm, which is a bridleway and off-limits to motorised traffic without access. The fact that it is far too narrow for sensible parking of any sort throughout a good deal of its length is irrelevant. If Austwick were to return as a seniors only race with no parking beyond the right hand turn to Sowerthwaite Farm, i could assist you in marshalling this restriction; as at close of registration at 12.45 i would have 15mins to make my way to the start of the race.
Great race today, thanks to all who helped with the organisation, first time I've run there, great course:thumbup:
Big turnout again for first race of the series - 160+ seniors. Great organisation with the new registration set up which was very professional. Team slats enjoyed themselves even if I was reduced to spectating with a rib injury. Thanks to all at Helm involved with the organisation.
Results.
Steve Swarbrick of Bowland is listed twice at positions 1 and 50.
Cheers to everyone at HH.
I have posted a video to You Tube of the Scout Scar Race at the following link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TuBEE0CGg1o There are 4 parts the link is for part 1. You will hear the great support shouted out by Mrs Davies (Nicola`s Mum) who was brilliant. Hopefully i will get better as just getting used to new camcorder.
Results from Firbank
Had to miss Firbank, by back has gone into spasm again.
For anyone who had trouble following the flags at Whitestones. http://www.helmhill.co.uk/index.php/whitestones
Race update.
The Yarlside Downhill has been moved from March 24th to April 7th.
Mainly to avoid the clash with Edale which the organiser is doing.
Hope to see you there.
Thanks

I can also confirm that Sunday's race at Fairmile will start at 1pm. It is seniors only at Fairmile this year but we thought best to keep the race at the same time that the seniors normally set off after the kids even though they wont be there.
Bring your skis! More snow might have arrived by start time on Sunday.
Video`s of Fairmile at the following links, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMIKQvuD_U0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4oNJqF7cbc8 Sorry a little bit shaky but conditions were quite poor.
And I've made a couple of juniors videos at the Winter League:

Really enjoyed the brutal barbon fell race today. I say brutal, going up that hill was OK but comimg down it....glad it was a beautiful and dry day! Great junior races too and well worth the trip up from Nottingham for the girls. Thanks HHFR

Here's a video from the Sedbergh School race - including some of the junior races and my daughter's footage from the senior race. Excuse her focus on family members and the funny chatter in the background!
