I think I was running with "invested interest" for a while, untill Great Gable that is and she pulled away. Well done to her and to you supporting.

I cannot believe;) that no one has yet started a thread on surely one of the best days out (and it will be a day for me) on the fells all year.
My entry is in and now looking forward to it very much.
Only done it once before and that was the year (3 or 4 years ago?) when there was no Scafell Pike, which I imagine kind of makes a difference. the climb up Dale Head was fairly hard as it was. . .
Aye but does anyone have any idea why the big night party is not taking place - used to be the best part of the day - severely disappointed that it's not on.
Am in cant wait cracker of a race
Also doing this bad boy. Having a second attempt at it on tge 2nd of July. Hopefully we won't get lost in a snow blizzard this time around!
You're right, it used to be great but the dynamics of it have certainly changed over the last 2 years at least. It's completely independant of the race anyway and I've no idea exactly why it's been cancelled but for the last 2 years ago there was a noticeable difference in the ages of the party go-ers and last year if you were anything over 19 you were ancient!!!
maybe that's why??
I'm sure someone will know but yes it's a real shame as it used to be a great night shimmying up the pole on crucified legs!! :D
I'm in..........Gulp.......Better get some serious training in.
Just looking at the results for the last few years - does anyone have a rough guide as to what time I should be aiming for to be at the checkpoints prior to Honister in order to meet the 3:30 cut off eg what time should I be on top of Gt Gable ?
Isn't it 4:30 at Honister?
Based on what I've done in the past, I'd say Scafell in about 2:45, Great Gable 3:45.
Enjoy! :closed:
Two years ago the tent was crackers, fighting and brawling. Last year there were not many runners in there. We will just have to have a couple of pints in the pub this year!
