Merry, I concur. The powers of recovery of the human body are amazing. I couldn't feel the Fellsman in my legs when I ran the Marlborough Downs 33 yesterday, getting a PB in the process. :D This ultra running lark is a bit addictive, methinks!

A walk to the spice of life (Best kebab in manchester). 10 minute rest then a swift jog back home. Thats enough. Tomorrow 9 miles on the unloved surface with 1500ft of ascent
A couple of 'awayday' runs this w/e en route to and from parents house.
Yesterday: c5 miles from Langsett Barn - reservoir path - up Cut Gate path, turn back after 20mins, across to North America farm then main track and woodland path back to reservoir road back to Car Park.
Today: despite being surrounded by the hills, an 11.5 mile low level flattish trail run around the Longdendale reservoirs & back to Hadfield (Dinting Road end) partially along the L. Trail.
4 miles... was supposed to be about 8 or 9 but jarred my knee early on and kept on getting twinges.:( No point risking it, there's always tomorrow.:)
Race no 3 in the DP summer series, "Washington Wasp" from near Langsett Barn (4.5m, ~300m). Very wet underfoot and a nice refreshing shower half way round to cool us down. :mad:
44m 23s = just under a minute quicker than last year. :confused:
Just a short session in the gym. 10k on the bike and 5k on the treadmill with a few minutes on the stairmaster whilst waiting for a treadmill.
Not quite running.
Did 30 seriously rapid lengths of breathstroke.....over-took everyone in the pool...even got competative and had to over-take a woman doing front crawl.:rolleyes:
Pushed myself a little too hard and felt a little ill afterwards.:rolleyes:
5 mile off road to work, 5 mile off road home sooner than i thought.
Then a couple of miles with CVFR junoirs:cool:
Fox & Hounds Fell race last night (8.9m 1550ft climb)
A good test only seven weeks after walking the dog was painful. Set off at around 70% but was giving it everything at the finish. (Former) injuries held up fine, with no after effects this morning :)
Well, since i decided to go for a run...i decided to make the most of it and did 9 miles.
Knees went as soon as i left the door but 5 minutes later i felt amazing and plodded on.
This rain we've been having has really loosened up all the ground and it was like a cross country race though all the fields.
Legs started to go knackered around the 7 mile mark but all in all it felt brilliant to get out and go for a run.:) 1hr 22.
Just have to see how my knees fair for the next few hours and days.:eek:
NOTE TO SELF - Tape nipples up when wearing my pony vest in future! Ouch.
8 miles with 1 mile warm up. 6 miles tempo and a 1 mile warm down all the dreaded surface
7.25miles/1350feet on t'Chevin and Danefield followed by pint of Landlord in Royalty:)

A cracking 8 miler with Settle Harriers tonight - Helwith Bridge ---> Smearsett Scar ---> Pot Scar ---> Wharfe Wood ---> Oxenber Wood (bluebells every frigging where) ---> Wharfe ----> straight up the side of Moughton ---> over the boulder strewn top ---> fast down the bank between the quarries ---> back round the lane to Helwith.
I ran to work this morning! First time, great run! So a nice hilly 11.5 miles on road for me this morning!
(Sunday) 5 hilly miles up the Loxley Valley to Ughill etc. Meant to be further but pissing down
(Monday) Down the gym did some leg presses amongst others. Seems to help recovery
(Yesterday) 6+ miles from Malin Bridge up nearly to Dam Flask then up the hill and down to Middlewood. Felt easier than quicker than last week but probably an illusion
A six mile run up the disused railway line.
Just at the turn it bucketed down. I ran back up our street looking like a drowned rat just as the sun was coming out again.

1 1/2 hours based around Dovetones including up Winberry then down and up onto Dovestones and across the peat. Then back. Busy out, lots o' folk walking their dogs plus a school party shattering the quiet! :)

3 miles of uphill hell followed by a 1 mile plunge back to earth and a 2 mile run on the flat back home. Mainly around Mossley and grotton
5 miler up and over Norland Moor and back, warm, ran topless.

No running to report yet but I managed 8ml or so walk over Beamsley Beacon and Round Hill area late afternoon/early evening today. Best part of the day weather-wise and I didn't see a soul :)
