Re: Today's Wildlife Encounter
Had a Barn Owl follow me round as I was marking out the navigation course on Saturday
Re: Today's Wildlife Encounter
There is one living in a barn in the valley along the Dales Way not far from Buckden. I was running with Masham Man and we saw it out hunting and followed it back to the barn. Magical birds!

I'll look out for it - with the clocks changing, my daughter's training moves to Clayton next week so, while I'm hanging around for her, I'll probably be running through Ogden woods and over the moor most Monday and Wednesday evenings again :)
Re: Today's Wildlife Encounter
First migrant Wheatears of the year on Settle Hills today.
Re: Today's Wildlife Encounter

With the lighter evenings I might just see you up there....been pissed off by the dogs in the woods lately (a few out of control and after a piece of my rump) and have tended to stay away.

Just come in from my dog walk and seen a pair of Sand Martins. Love the anticipation at this time of year looking towards the skies and willing for the summer migrants to arrive.
Re: Today's Wildlife Encounter
Are sand martins not migrants?
