really - in 2009? can't remember that ...
that pub just gets chronically packed though - never really look forward to it to be honest
plus I reckon the ale leaves something to be desired (even if they are the race sponsor and borrwodale club local!)

After descending Piers Gill on my recce, I'm quite pleased there's someone worse out there. Oh wait, both involve going at 90 degrees in the wrong direction, and descending a couple of hundred metres too far, only my error involved some dodgy scrambling as well (well it was dodgy descending wet rock in wave harriers!). Hoping to make it from Scafell Pike to Sty Head in less than two hours on the day :)
Found a pile of stones on the race route off Gable yesterday at just the right height for traversing into Windy Gap, someone could have tripped over them but you'll be ok now ;)
Borrowdale place available due to ITB diagnosis this morning  ....anyone interested PM me
Lots of reassuring posts on here about people going off various peaks in the wrong direction - glad it's not just me (and Pete F) who manage to do that. Still, hopefully it means I'll do a better job on race day. :closed:
