Re: Tonight's football thread
I've listened to Talk Sport on about this tonight and on other occasions.
I tend to agree that the new Rangers is the same club. The Club has been through a series of owners - but it's the same club. Even if the only people that cme in to buy it were a couple of fans for 10 bob and they became non-league it would still be Rangers.
Scottish Football needs to take sanctions as they have against Rangers, to send out a signal to others. It's about time all clubs were made to operate properly, within their budgets and it seems to me that Scotland cannot support so many professional clubs.

There should be an electric atmosphere at East Stirling away :w00t:

I think they ground share with Stenhousemuir these days so actually have a stand or two now. That picture reminds me of Spotland a few years back before they built the new Wilbutts Lane stand.

I notice that the take-over of dirty Leeds United collapsed today.
Ken Bates arranges a takeover with some rich new owners, all the fans buy season tickets and he shafts everyone 2 days before the start of the season and keeps control of a mid table championship team with large crowds and expensive tickets. :w00t:

That thought had crossed my mind.
Not a total surprise I have to say as it's dragged on for so long. But still a crushing disappointment to not be rid of the cantankerous git.

I'm thoroughly cheesed off with the whole shambles that is Leeds United at the moment. It was bad enough at the end of last season, but then to be thrown a wee bit of light at the end of a very long tunnel is soul destroying. I'm not sure its completely out of the window yet, but it seems pretty close. If Bates writes notes for this Saturdays game, it might be interesting! I have a little bit of hope that we'll go ok with the new players, but in truth I don't really know how they play. I was very sorry to hear Rodgers was up for sale, as he was a potential replacement for Snodgrass!!!

Bates is a truly odious creature.:closed:

Just heading back from Wem-ber-leee having watched the women's Olympic final. No diving, acting just some good quality football and a cracking atmosphere. Japan unlucky to lose against the US.
