Re: Cader Idris, May 29.
That's true!! Cader last year was only my third ever fell race.
People had warned me about what happnes when you come off the mountain, and was'nt sure what they meant.
"you've just descended for 2.1 miles at the rate of ****!!, then you're back to running flat or undulating terrain".
"Your legs dont get any chance to adapt to the sudden change of pace or muscule use"
I'll make note of it this year!! they allso reckon that on the way back on the path round Gwernan Lake to the town, that's where most of the overtaking takes place. In the past it's been where the race has been won or lost.

Re: Cader Idris, May 29.
Went up for a quick sniff around last night. Hill fog was down so not much use in terms of looking for lines.
Can feel the quads today and will expect to feel them more after racing. First 10m fell race for me looking forward to having a go.

Re: Cader Idris, May 29.
Evening peeps,
I am thinking of doing this race but have no idea of what to expect. I have read the thread re cut off times etc but can anyone tell me how hard it is until the cut off? I have done the Snowdon Race a few times, how does it compare to the Snowdon Race?
Cheers

Re: Cader Idris, May 29.
I staggered up/down Snowdon a few years ago in 2:18, and had no trouble in making the cut-off at Cader

Re: Cader Idris, May 29.
There were a few of us useless buggers that missed the cut-off last year, but only a handful. Can't see the cut-off being any problem for decent runners & experienced fell runners.
I'm just going to shift a bit faster at the start, as I was taking it too easy at the start last year I think, thinking the cut-off would be easy.....

Re: Cader Idris, May 29.
Thanks for the replies. I am fairly confident I can make the cut as I can get to Clogwyn Bridge, the cut off for the Snowdon Race in 55 mins.
Hope to see you there.

Re: Cader Idris, May 29.
Ria - you have to press the "Go Advanced" button to get the smilies, but the new ones are rubbish anyway, so i just copy in my own smilies from elsewhere http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/...ink_smiley.gif
