To be fair, relatively cheap domestic kit. Probably not very accurate.

Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Scales don't have to be dear.. I had two digital scales beside each other from Lidl and Aldi. Both under £15 and I was exact same weight on both scales.
NOTE: What's important is that the scales are on a firm even surface. I tried the scales on a uneven wooden floors and the measurements were all over the place depending on where the scales was placed.
The slightest rocking of the scales is a NO NO. Test each corner of scales with one finger (pressing slightly). If you feel movement try moving scales..

Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Standing one foot on each scales does not count.

Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Is it ok to support yourself by resting a hand 'lightly' on the nearby towel rail;)?

Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Cheers Finbarr. That's helpful advice and probably explains the anomalies at my mum's house!

Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Can I submit mine a day early?
Down one kilo to 64kg, which considering I've not been allowed to exercise this last week is ok by me. Want to submit that before I mysteriously put that kilo back on again, whihc no doubt I will!!!
PS, I always weigh myself on my own scales on exactly the same tile on the bathroom floor and I recalibrate them each time. Can't be too sure!!!

Kind of same thing.. My Scales is in a room with dodgy wooden floors but after much effort I found a 'flat' spot which is now marked ;). Unfortunately it shares the same spot with the drying horse

Urgh. Hoped for better after 8 days off the beer. and a week of decent mileage; put me down for 11st 9lb please.
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
I think this 5 lb chillblain I have acquired might set me back a bit tomorrow when I weigh myself
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
83.1 kg this morning. Loss of 2.2 kg :)
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
170lbs, steady as she goes
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
165.6 lbs (no rounding up here  )
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
was 66.7 kilos now 65.9 kilos not exactly a massive loss (about 1.5 pounds)
had rounded previous figures but revised that decesion !
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Following Alf's lead with no rounding 167.6 lb steady start.
Well done Master Doc and thanks for the work on keeping this thread alive.
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
I always round to the nearest integer, measuring body weight is at best a vague thing and I prefer to record a trend rather than an exact weight.
Otherwise I'd only ever weigh myself before drinking a pint of water and never after. That's 1.253lbs right there.

Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
That's one off for me 94kg this morning, although I think it may be two as when I weighed myself properly at home I was actually 96kg not 95kg.
Anyway calibrated now so on with the losing.

Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
3 kilos lighter - hoped to lose at least that but now for the hard slog shifting the rest...
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
68.5kg (from a start of 69kg) which is pleasing as not running due to injury and been tempted by rich food on ski holiday.
discplined self to only eat at mealtimes - hard at first but that's getting mentally easier.
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
11 stone half a pound for me today which is 1.5 pounds down from starting. I tend to fluctuate a couple of pounds either way seemingly at random though so not reading too much into it at the moment.
Started a food diary but promptly stopped it after a day so I need to get into the habit of doing it.
-
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
A pound lost here and my trousers feel very loose now on what had become my standard hole in my belt

Ya I get that as well, probably caused by fluid retention.
I am 72.5 Kg so down 1.5Kg. I think one of those was an easy win as it was a bit of post Christmas bloat. Gets harder from now on.

Because of this thread last year I went from a 34" waist to a 32" waist

Weighed in - and have put on, this is not good news now 66kg, not eaten anymore than normal and have actually run more.

ah ok sorry. I am getting a bit edgy, a bit light headed with the weight loss, the lack of chocky biscuits is beginning to hurt now, you know how it is :o

Re: Overweight to Race-weight
OK I am 11.5lb a loss of 2lbs :), that will do as I have been on a course with loads of lovely free food on offer for two days .

Ok done the As to Ps.
Can people who reposted the table just delete it. Make it easier to for people to read back through the thread if it is not full of multiple versions of the same table.

Thank you so much DrP - what date are we next to report/confess?
I feel I need to confess in advance that the next fortnight contains a birthday of some celebration and, as such, my virtuous behaviours I am trying to establish may sink into a vodka fuelled, fried (veggie) breakfast type state. As such I think I am in danger of undoing my initial success

Re: Overweight to Race-weight
I finally bought some scales. It wasn't as bad as I thought and I've only gone on them three times and that was to check the accuracy (I weighed the same each time). 139lbs. I'd like to be 134ish by the summer. I'm probably too late to join you all?
