15m/2800ft on SS crosser, mostly off road and shouldering bike on all the ups, nice warm-up for lakes trip tomorrow.
62miles for me into the Peak District, not too cold but very wet near the end of the ride.
The wind was quite strong as well but a tail wind to bring me home which is rare but when its there you bloody take it dont you.
Loads of climbing and it amazes me how many TOURISTS there was walking around Matlock Bath.:o.
Was on the rourke with deep rims, err got a bit dicey at 40mph with the wind.
Passed a nice Mercian tandem and said hello. You dont see many of those knocking about.
I hope you're getting Campag on this Mercian??
Yes indeed mate
The Velocheeeeeeeeeeee groupset will be taken off the Bianchi frame and re used.
I dont think Mercian like using Shimano anyway. Years ago I think they was one of the main dealerships for Campag parts comimg into the UK.
Veloche is bullet proof. Ive had nothing major in thousands of miles with this groupset. I might put new cables on it thats all.
I dont have anything much against shimano but the levers are all to cock thats why i dont use em.
Veloce???? You need at least Chorus for a Mercian?
Shitmano looks much better now the Maccy D cables are hidden.
To be honest ive had more niggles with the chorus carbon groupset on my rourke than the veloce.
That and if I get chorus I will be lynched.
Ive got Centaur brake calipers mind , haha.
The chorus constantly needs adjusting with the barrel screw. Think I need a new cable.
I'm thinking about upgrading my steel roadie with carbon forks, new wheels and a new groupset...
Although I might have accidently bought a new car... :o
A CAR???? Dom, how could you... Think of all the bikes you could have bought in stead?
Mind, my best bike is worth a lot more money than my car lol!!!!
Did about 50 kms and a little under two hours on the roadbike today, with my new coach... He came along to make sure I wasn't going to push myself... And what does he do??? Indeed, push the pace a little along a flattish section of fast undulating road! Loved it though and was happy to tuck in behind him in the wind :)
Bring on tomorrows ride :)
