Daz, '..Wilmslow Half Marathon...', are you sure you have the right thread. Did you want

For the price of the Wilmslow HM one could enter both TT and Trigger! ;)Now there is another perspective.
Or maybe the chance to win a £100 ASICS voucher has more worth that a lifesaving rescue by MRT?
Hmmm I know which one I'd prefer.;)
Brilliant, thanks. Plenty of time to sort the 'pass out' from the 'management'
Absolutely, being a finely tuned athletic running machine ;) I need the get the timing of my pre race carbohydrate loading (beer drinking) programme sorted :thumbup:Quote:
Do people really plan this far ahead ?
Hoping to do this race this coming year, never been in the dark peaks before and looking for a decent route description and/or map so I can recce it. No map via Pete Bland and none I can fine at Race Maps either, any suggestions gratefully received, cheers, Mark
Awaiting Stolly's (?) excellent map - I'll let him post it!
Mr. Nobthrob normally has maps knocking about on the day (if he gets up early enough) which are excellent. There's route descriptions, map, checkpoints and a couple of GPS traces on the race homepage which should satisfy you (check right to the bottom of the page, below the results).
The only major Route Choice is the down and up vs. around from Grindslow Knoll. I know it won Lloyd the race last year, but I also know that some more human beings lost a lot of places and time (Carl Edgell for one)
I'm intending to be there again this year. I suppose the target is 3hrs but that's going to take some excellent conditions (again), some excellent training over the next 2 months and a helicopter.
You could check out the Dark Peak website. Go to results and scroll down to find the skyline. There are some GPS tracks attached to the results page. try this link. GPS tracks at top of page. http://www.dpfr.org.uk/#results/race/2490
Glen
also lots of route discussion on the ES thread if you do a search
Thanks all, will take a look, think I'll be happy with 4 hours by the looks of it!
