Going on a trip down memory lane tonight. Alice Cooper and Motley Crüe playing in Manchester. It's nearly 30yrs since I last saw either band live...not expecting the same energy from bands or myself.

Had this stuck in my head for days after hearing it on a TV advert...
Not a bad track though... and Dion is another rocker who came through after years (decades?) of heroin addiction to become a grand old man of rock.
It fascinates me that basically a throwaway pop song written by Ernie Maresca (who as a performer was just a 'one-hit wonder') in the early 60s (when Maresca was in his early 20s) can reappear 50+ years later to earn his descendants royalties (Maresca died at 76 in July).
Wonderful!
Yeah I agree, I actually like the track! I like a lot of music of this genre, despite being 25, ha ha
Sketches of Spain by Miles Davis. Amazing musicianship and arrangements
Slayer and Anthrax tonight at Manchester Apollo....how charming does that sound?
For complete contrast, going to the Christmas markets first for some apple strudel and custard. Then dining out on good old 'thrash metal'.
On a less flippant note, James Last is one of my favourite old artistes and is often blaring from the Hi-Fi, courtesy Spotify as I sit at the computer. A current fave is Caravan Palace. I think I first heard them on Jonathan Ross. I've discovered a few interesting artistes on there over the years. Some of Blank & Jone's chill-out creations also float my boat. These are a million miles away from most mentions on here and have probably already made Messrs Breeze, brightside and Tindersticks violently sick. ;)
Please give this a listen.

You won't know them, they will probably fade away into obscurity like 99% of all bands.
But for me, its beautiful stuff, better than most I hear on t'radio.
That sounds great to me, right up my street, seen both these bands a few times, top quality thrash metal, ace. How was the gig Darren?
I'm off to Manchester Apollo on Saturday to see Judas Priest, and Michael Schenker supporting. Always had a soft spot for Priest since I first saw 'em live way back in 1981,cant wait for this.
Nice one wheeze
Hi Fozzy
My ears are still ringing 3 days later!
I was a little apprehensive about seeing Slayer without the sadly departed Jeff Hanneman but Exodus guitarist Gary Holt was a brilliant stand in. Watching the crowd 'moshing' really brought back memories of the 80's when I last saw Slayer and Anthrax....whilst stood in the mosh pit. Now I'm more of an observer from the safety of the balcony. Cracking gig, both bands still have it.
Was tempted with Priest and MSG for another trip down memory lane but doing Kirkby Moor fell race instead...harder on the legs but easier on the ears!
off to The Prodigy tonight at Manchester Central (aka G-MEX)...4th time seeing them, still life in the old dogs!
Documentary by Julian Temple (The Great Rock and Roll Swindle, The Secret Policeman's Other Ball, Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten) about Wilko Johnson (Dr Feelgood, The Blockheads, Roger Daltery) and being diagnosed with cancer, and being given 10 months to live.

I have bought this and love it.
In Starbucks. They're playing a nice mix of Joan Baez, Simon & Garfunkel, Richie Havens and Tim Hardin. It's going well with my patchouli chai yak milk latte
Great track from James at the Bing lounge
