Cheers Bigfella, I'll look into those.

Came across this track by chance - would love to have seen these live when the group was all together. Amazing harmonies even now still very good.

William, for me they are all excellent. But Truelove's Gutter tops the list if I was pushed. Especially Open Up Your Door, Remorse Code & Don't You Cry.

Thanks for that Jez, great song. Talking of ex Pulp members Jarvis Cocker is playing the charmingly named Devil Arse cave in Castlton in the Hope Valley Derbyshire.

I saw Jarvis was playing in Castletown. Should be a memorable show
I’m a big Hawley fan too btw
Mahler 9 - Berlin Philharmonic and Sir John Barbirolli. Vintage recording, beautiful clarity and detail.
sublime with a bottle of Old Tom.
Heard on 6 music this morning possibly proves there's really nothing new under the sun! Jethro Tullesque with a bit of added dirty, mean funky guitar?

My favourite record of the year I think Mossdog
Mrs Clough and I have had a pleasant evening with Kate Rusby at Buxton Opera house tonight. Just a hunch but I think she might be from Yorkshire.

Hang with this blissfull, laid back summery track till 1:50 when some of the most tripped out liquid lead guitar first slides into to view. Just....ahhhh.
Wish I could play like that!
Considering this was 1987 the sound quality is incredible from a truly outstanding band: This is Pink Floyd a shame Roger Waters was not on this track

Not posted an Album of the Week for a long time, but this guy's 'Please Don't Be Dead' is a cracker!
Eartha Kitt
Bit spooky - turned on Radio 2 yesterday evening (yes, I'm nearly 60, that's what we listen to sometimes!) and Simon Mayo was playing the track 'Solid Air'Quote:

Well...Simon Mayo is now in his 60th year so that's OK!

Heard this on 6 Music on Friday and hadn't heard it for years and years. There are lots of Armand's and Garage Shite mixes of this track on the internet - but they've anaesthetised the raw production and energy of the original - enjoy :)
Everybody's Happy Nowadays.
Not Today.
RIP Pete Shelley.
I’m desperately sad after hearing about Pete Shelley’s passing earlier

Very sad news.
Sad indeed. Takes me right back to my days at M/Cr Uni.
Ah yes. I suggest this is the essence of regret ie remembrance of one's youth and the piece of you that has died with the artist, with a reminder of your own mortality. Rather that the death of an artist who ceased to be significant, say, 50 years ago.
So when, say, Bob Dylan dies nobody will regret that he isn't releasing awful Frank Sinatra pastiche records any more but they might still remember the first time they heard Like A Rolling Stone.
My current favourites are the Lumineers, with a dash of Johnny Cash now and again.

Moving on today.
Has anyone heard The Fairytale of New York on the radio this Christmas.
I've not heard it this year yet. I think the snowflakes must be on the case!
Lovely:)
