Re: pain under below knee &
Cheers guys.
I've been reading a little and it sounds like my thigh/hip ache (the tensor fascial latae) is probably due to a tight itb. so I guess I have a tight one on my other leg (which is probably making my knee swell).
my knee isnt painfull its just a little swollen below the knee cap now. I havent ran for a week but I'm hoping it will be ok for a race I would like to do on Sunday.
might pop one of the jumpers knee straps on for the race?
Re: pain under below knee &
well still not running, I've seen a physio around 2 weeks ago. It looks like Jumpers knee. If I straighten my leg from a sitting position I get pain just below my kneecap. Anyway I've been cycling & swimming which seems to be helping to strengthen the knee (the weekness whiles climbing stairs is going). but the swelling doesnt seem to be going & I can still feel the swelled tendon & a nobbly bit just below the kneecap (which is where it must be damaged).
I did some pool walking last night....which as suppisingly hard work! I did 10 lengths and not sure I could have done more!
Re: pain under below knee &
Knee pain may be related to overuse where small efforts repeated many times without leaving adequate recovery, for example running too fast, or jumping too. Or injuries can be serious when the damage caused by impact or twisting, injury to the anterior cruciate ligament.
