Depending on what happens at work this week, is anyone up for slaying this route over the bank holiday?
I'll know for sure if I can make it mid-week.
Should be easily taken care of in 6-8hrs at a nice steady pace?
Whats your thoughts SS?
Ok, listen up:
Starts off on the Pendle Cloughs race route, all the way to the checkpoint at the top of Big End before you start the descent back down to Downham again (forget the CP no.).
At this point (approx CP1 ln FTOP) you pick up the FTOP race route, doing it all the way to the Trig Hotel (CP10?).
Then you go back to pick up the Pendle Cloughs route back to Downham.
27mi/7000ft all in.
Hmm, maybe. Will have to see what the family plans are for the Bank Holiday.
Following a PM, just thought I'd check everyone is still okay for Sat 11th Sept to give this a go. Not picked a time yet (though the earlier the better)...come to mention it, still not got permission from the BH yet:rolleyes:
Hursty, did you have a go at this at the weekend? How'd you get on?
Right, I'm off to earn me some brownie points!! Wish me luck. ;)
Hello there SS! I'm defo up for this if its still going ahead? Not been over to Pendle since the Full Tour last November so it would be be fitting again now before this years bash! Really looking forward to it as long as you and Hursty don't go off too fast and lose me-remember last year when I asked "which hill is this?" Hopefully see you onthe 11th?
Rachel
Saturday the 11th is on then!! I'll make arrangements to come up that weekend.
Didnt make it back from camp the weekend just gone mate, so just did a bit of training down here!
Don't worry Rach, deffo a nice steady pace :)
What time are we looking at starting off?
9.00 am sounds perfectly acceptable to me!! And don't forget you two, that I only beat you due to severe injuries/lack of training last year!!! Plus, SS, you had fine honed those compass/grid references/trod lines for me!!! I'll never forget being absolutely frozen to the bone whilst you two fine tuned a degree of a compass bearing or two and UKHursty looked for miniscule trods on the top of Pendle!!!! Can't wait now-every time I drive past Pendle to go shopping in the big smoke of Burnley I reminisce........hurrah for CTJM!!!!

Haha I remember it well! :)
Don't worry, I can do the route blindfolded now, including the Clough's route which is slightly trickier, so no stopping around unless for a break!
9am is fine by me too.
