Good luck to those to who do attempt tonight or over the weekend.
It was grim last weekend but we didn't have the strong winds.
Evening all.
Seems odd sitting here when I reckon I should be somewhere on Spoonygreen Lane. I was itching to go and felt pretty good until I read the Met Office forecast last night - it seemed significantly worse than the forecast on MWIS. It was only after much deliberation that I decided it was best not to go.
I've definitely learned a few things regards organising an attempt. There is a lot to be said for having an element of flexibility with supporters and start times / days - I know others have benefitted from this already this year.
While I'm gutted I didn't go I know it's not the end of the world. Lots of people have been very kind in offering help and assistance for future attempts and it is very much appreciated.
Good luck to those who go tomorrow.

Best of luck to all attemptees this weekend, any successes will be treated with the shock and awe they rightly deserve!
Heard that Tom Hollins has also cancelled, potentially looking at a 7.00pm start tomorrow. He's up in Keswick now and reports dreadful weather, lots of water coming down off the fells and the rivers really swollen.
I know that people are gutted after all the preparation and organisation but we really do need a sense check on these attempts. It's not only the contenders but the supporters who are subject to awful conditions.
Chill guys, have a pint and come back again when the weather is better.
Reports from Wasdale Head Inn on Twitter say flooding around there cars being dumped
Just to let everyone Know my Charity attempt this weekend for Prostate Cancer has been resceduled for 20th July due to severe weather warnings ie flooding and 70mph winds. I want this attempt to be remembered for all the right reasons. We can't afford any more casualties up there thanks for all your support. Mark Estienne
