[similar position but spookily I have a Caol Ila 55% in front of me Cask Strength and its getting to the end of the bottle--bugger! Any of the Islay malts suite me but my real favourite is The Taliskerquote=molehill;7499]As I type, finishing off the last dregs from a bottle of 15y.o Linkwood; not bad at all. Not sure what is next, so many malts to choose from and so many marvelous flavours - something for every occasion :)[/quote]
Re: Best Malt / Distillery (to
I also have a small bottle of Caol Ila cask downstairs. I shall be strong willed this evening though, I think

Sounds good...when's the forumers tasting party? :D And is it on the way to Wheeze's ? Sounds like he's got a fair selection too.
Hey, maybe we should have a bring a malt party. If 20 of us each bring 2 bottles that'd be 40 bottles  Assuming 25% over-lap of bottlings still gives 30 different samples. And wiv that many bottles we'd not have to worry about racing in February
...but back down to earth, gotta go to Sainsbury's tomorrow, down to last bottle here...you know I'm sure the stuff evaporates
Re: Best Malt / Distillery (to
Stick, there is a Malt Party. Unfortunately it also involves 2 days of running up and down mountains and an awfull lot of cycling :(
Worth it though.

Well, the first 2 bits (Malt party and 2 days of running up and down big hills) sound well good :) The cycling thing is a bit of challenge for me as I do believe most earnestly that I rate as one of the world's slowest bicycle users (I respect those that do far too much to use the term cyclist when refering to my efforts).:o
But I could maybe train a bit and if you all promise to not have finished the party by the time I get back...I'll give it a go! Sends us the details!
...what am I saying  ...maybe I shouldn't drink anymore tonight...
Re: Best Malt / Distillery (to
Stick old chap, check out the What Bike thread on the long distance challenge section. We will be combining exercise with food and drink again this summer with refreshments designed by Mole-U-Like Inc, Middle Bit of Wales Corp. Read and decide. Room for more players yet.

Ah, now I know what you were doing up at that time of the night :)
Get a good fry up down your gullet this morning and out on the hills. You will benefit from tasting that Jura again for initial 5 miles :D
