Seriously though, why not have all three, but have more beer on sunday after the Married Bliss, or have more beer on Saturday and rename the Married Bliss, the Divorce Hangover:eek:
Oooh, if we're going for the marriage theme, it should definitely be a pairs race.
And in my experience, it should:
- start too early
- have a nice initial climb, but to a slightly disappointing summit
- go downhill all the way from there.
But perhaps there could be the opportunity to pick a new partner halfway round...?
I like the married bliss idea of the west side of newlands first causey pike etc then down to the hause and then on to robinson as per AW. Prize for husband and wife teams?? Oh and the extra beers a splendid idea too!
I can feel some ideas coming up!
Marriage bliss and divorce hangover, all in one.

PS: I like the bit between Whiteside and Grasmoor!
Yiannis, how about reversing what you had originally planned as the finish of your 60 @ 60?? - N slopes of Causey Pike via the sheepfold above Stoneycroft Beck, Causey Pike, Scar Crags, Sail, Crag Hill, Wandope, Whiteless Pike, drop down into Sail Beck and climb to Newlands Hause, Robinson, miss Hindscarth, straight to Dalehead then finish the usual AW route. You could even make it a 2 leg relay, with the change-over at Newlands Hause!
How many would opt for your 'reedy gully' when ascending Robinson? :D
Ian.
Dare I say it, but the suggested route via Causey-Whiteless is the race the AW should always have been!! Effectively the old northern counties.....
