i will be running. i am fairly new to fell running, i have run the cleevewold 14 miler and mortimer forest and last december ran the cardington cracker. this race has now got me hooked on fellrunning. i have since run the wrekin and sugarloaf. can anyone tell me how much harder this race is going to be. travelling from worcestershire 170 miles, can't find anyone else mad enough to come along.
Not too dissimilar to Cardington cracker, all short grassy terrain. Similar height gain, slightly shorter, but Moel Eilio has fewer but longer ascents in it. 3 significant climbs, the last one being the worst IMO as it just goes on and on and on! I'd put it at a similar difficulty level. Both runnable fast courses.
Thought I'd have a waddle down that way. Might even do the race! Not done it before. Looking for cool dude weather... :)
it sounds good IainR. not sure any race can be classed fast in mt case. i am very slow running uphill, but love running kamakazi style downhill. the weather forcast is 60% chance of rain which i don't mind, just hope visibility is ok.
I will be in attendance with my Leeds entourage:D

Forecast is pretty good. Quite cool on top, it'll be 5 Deg or so at the summit, much better than the heat of the past few weeks. The winds gusts will be strong but they should have died down by the time of the race.
The ups and downs are some of the most enjoyable in all of UK fellrunning. The sodding 2 miiles down the lane at the end is one of the most torturing things you can do!
Hoped to be there, but cannot make it now. Its a beautiful race. Just hope the weather allows some of the views....the summit of Eilio is lovely on a fine day!
This is the selection race for Snowdon International Mountain Race.
Any news on who won the mens and ladies?
