Don't want to appear too picky, but I did get my money's worth at 25 miles (223) and the cheese-in-soup idea was great if a bit stringy :)

Thanks Chris, results duly updated.
Any chance of results from the 25.04 miler now the 16.70 mile fun run results are out?:D
Looks like we have sufficient volunteers come forward to ensure it continues.
One idea mooted was to move to March and I was asked to to seek opinions. I think the main clash would be with Edale Skyline.
Let me know either by the forum or PM me and I'll pass on the thoughts.
Gordon,
I thought it was good in January. The diary's more sparse then, but it's already filling up by March. My opinion would be to leave it where it was. It works well for 24 out of 25 years. :)
Gordon,
I agree with Nick, I was down to do this in January but couldn't clearly due to the cancellation and yes you're right it does/did clash with Edale hence not being able to do the rescheduled event in March :( There's not a lot going on post Christmas with the longer stuff it would be good to keep it in the January IMO. :)
Anyone doing the Two Crosses this year? The date has been confirmed as Sunday 20th March 2011.
Did the 18 miler last year but am tempted with the 25 miles this year. Going to see how I get on in the Wadsworth Trog before I decide.

I was going to do it if it was in January. Too much on in March, Heptonstall fell race, Edale etc
If i ever find myself fit for anything I'll be on the 18 I think.
I never missed this at the old time. It's a no-goer for me now it's in March, unfortunately.
After Wadsworth/Amble then, you'll have to wait for me, I'm still a fat knacker. You can park up at mine, I'm less than a mile off course.
Note from organisers of Heptonstall Fell Race - sorry to hear about the cancellation -noted the possible new date; 21st could clash with our new 15 miler just down road the same weekend? We tried to avoid clashes with any similar race in South Pennines and were hoping the long distance fans would find our route perfectly placed away from other events. Is the new date fixed?
Anybody else doing this tomorrow? Obviously I am, or I wouldn't be asking.
I loved running this route in January. It was good training to get the legs going and some miles in the legs. There's too many other things to do in March, so i'll be doing the Heptonstall race instead.
The LDWA did themselves proud again yesterday, the food and friendliness were brilliant.
Quite a few runners turned out on what was a misearble day weather-wise, with fog adding to the navigational fun.
If anyone hasn't tried an LDWA event they are well worth a go.
Two Crosses filling up nicely so would be a good idea to get your entry in. CD for postal entries (with email for confirmation) by next Wednesday. I will put out some entry forms at Haworth Hobble tomorrow.
Will it continue its reputation as the best value Long Distance Challenge event (what will you find at the Naughty Corner?). Link to entry form at https://www.ldwa.org.uk/EastLancashire
Looking forward to the 2018 event. As always, a great day out whether you run it or walk. And magnificent value for money. Enter at sientries or I can upload a pdf entry form.
Most years you can enter on the day at The Two Crosses Challenge but this year there will be no EOD. The limit is 300 and we are already up to 255 entries. If you have yet to enter, I suggest you make it soon to avoid disappointment. Runners always welcome (I have now been an FRA member or over 30 years). Always great food on the way round with the Naughty Corner for that bit extra, offering true value for money

Mmmmm, the Naughty Corner. Shocking behaviour, what with the Mankinholes checkpoint on Haworth Hobble as well. It's enough to get us under the affluence of incerhol. Oh, since you're asking, maaarn's a sweet sherreh. :p
