Those socks must be very buoyant. I always seem to sink when I run on the canal.:)

A bloody great hour sploshing around the muddy tracks though fields, woods and forest around Monmouth. No other buggar about. Pissing rain, claggy, cold. Loved it!!
Merseyside XC today - finished 20th. Not sure what to make of it really. Was an absolute mudbath in parts and very tough! But very flat, would have preferred a couple of hills. Turning to the northerns I am now keen to get a couple of good weeks training and give it a right go!
Ran on the treadmill today (horror!) as I need a bit of leg speed. 3X10mins of effort with 2 mins recoveries in between. A good blast if you have little time.
Followed it with a Pilates class.
(And a warm pepper and goats cheese bagel!!)
Bit of a naff week as I hurt my leg running on tuesday night. Think it might have had something to do with the ski boots I had on during the day. Managed to run each day since and the pain in my left calf is now much better. Can still feel it, but able to run hard on it. AM training 8.30am-Warm up, 4 x 7 minute XC loop off 2 mins recovery, warm down. About 10 mile in total. PM-5 mile steady all on roads. Total 15+ miles.
Long run on the clwydians today 3 hours.....
well after 2 weeks of poundin the poxy hotel treadmill a nice steady 5 miler tonite:)
1hr 43mins this morning at 9.30am. 50mins this afternoon with Donna.
Afternoon watching TV now!
11 miles on the bogs and ditches of Winter Hill - great run bracing and fresh :D
Yesterday was an 18 miler in the woods -pretty wet and muddy - great fun.
Today - The Ashurst Bike Club winter duathlon near St Helens.
3m run - 10m bike - 3m run. Major battle with my best mate to take the honours.
9 miles on the Wolds nr York. Muddy. Legs felt like lead after yesterday's race and my new shoes bit into the back of my right heel. Bit of barefoot running to finish - lovely.
1hr 43mins with girl down the road while her boyfriend was out at 9:30 this morning :D . 1hr 53mins on the roads on my own later.
Should have joined us Ian. Nine of us ran from Cilcain at 9.20am. 4hr 18mins around the Clwydian Hills including sliding down Stony Gulley from Moel Famau (which took me a very long time!)
I much prefer the ascent of the gulley as in the Clwydian Hills race.
(Incidentally, I assume the 1hr 43mins was a run?;) )
Sunday - 13 and a bit muddy, wet and windy miles over the South Downs at the back of Brighton.
Training?? - I am that sore I can't even shower. And don't for gods sake make me laugh
1st run this year after a horrible week of post Oz cold and exhaustion, and I guess racing Kymin the day after landing didn't help. Anyway did an easy 3o minutes this evening, along a dark, wet road, with the dog. Amazing I haven't forgotten how to run! Not the mega milage of some but it's so good to have restarted.
Jason
8 1/2 miles very very steady tonite
Did a circuit class this morning but as was teaching it it's not quite the same!
Went spinning tonight for a change and as didn't have chance for a run and My God - thought i was going to kill myself!! It was SOOO hard and if you ever need an activity to try and assess your lactate threshold this has to be it!! I nearly fell off with exhaustion!:D same time next week then?!;)
8 mile hilly road run tonite...plus riding my bike to work 6 mile a day. Dam wind.:(
6 x 1000M on grass (mud!) tonight, with the club. The other group were doing 1500M reps but I thought I'd struggle with the distance - made the wrong choice, but it was a good workout anyhow. Hope it prepares me well for the Manchester league at Wythenshawe on Saturday.
6x1500m reps on a muddy cross country circuit - the hill in particular was very muddy! Notintafells- what makes you think you made the wrong choice?
Bisto - I should have done the 1500s (maybe stopped at 4) - then I would have had Olivia, Ruddy, Adrian, Knowlsey and co. to run with. Instead I had to give the others a start, though ITBegan and Rachael had a good session.
I'll start posting on here when I start training again!
Does going down to the track to WATCH people train count?
I would have posted last nights training earlier, but since the run I have been drying off!!! Running through Charlesworth I came upon a large puddle, which was audtioning for the role of an ocean! Along came a bloody big car at the same time. You can imagine what happened next. Yeap, thats it. I got a soaking which took away my breath! It was as if someone had thrown a bucket of water over me.
16 x 1 min off 30 secs jog recovery last night.
5 miles this morning.
just been for a 40 min run round the roads near home :)
I love my new working hours! :D
I now live in Hollingworth. They have the best curry house in the land for delivery so made the move easy. Also only a few minutes to the best eat in curry house at Bowerfold!!!! I love Bowerfold Spice!
Done lots of my runs around Glossop area. Might start using the road loop round your house again Ajohns for my three minute efforts.
