A tale that I told one or two last night:
We live close to Lothersdale and were in the H&H one evening having a meal when we overheard a conversation between one of the local farmer's lads and the landlord's daughter.
"Where's your dad?"
"Upstairs. Best place for him!"
"Eh!?"
"He's upset three customers already tonight", it was about 8:30, "Those two women outside with the horses annoyed him, he doesn't like animals"
"Well, what's he doing in a country pub? Why didn't he go for a town pub?"
"Oh, he doesn't like people either"!!!
Says it all really. It's just a pity that it's our local.
