Thanks for the plug Daz, we're hoping for a much bigger field this year - some locals from the village are rumoured to be doing it plus two clubs have made it part of their champs this year. I'll be on registration by the sound of it plus a bit of marshalling.
Gutted. There's no way I'd get round. My legs are still wobbly from Snowdon. One of my faves from last year.
I'll be there for the third time tonight. It's got a remarkable lot of climbing for only 5.5 miles around Macc Forest - I made it about 1000 feet!
this is the only race I've "streaked" for the past three years

oh, and I make it 1200ft!
superb as usual last night
Many Thanks to Pete and all his helpers
well up on numbers (over 80 I think?) partly thanks to Macc/Congleton/Wilmslow reviving an inter-club trophy competition
good to speak to Joe (racing) and lantern (marshalling)
I seem to be getting the hang of this racing lark, knocking 3 mins off my course PB with 48:18
Results and link to Mick Hall's race photos are up on the Macc website:

I didn't bump this thread last year, but did do it, lowering my course PB by another minute
this puts the pressure on for this year... :w00t:
anyhoo, date is next Wednesday 18th July 2012
brett - please change date in title... :)
this year's race is next week - Wednesday 17th July

I'm marshalling as usual...shall have to run it again another time, but as Noel says, it is horribly runnable.
Belting race though.
See you there.
Turns out that I should have received the route cards for the OCR, but I had made a mistake in giving the organiser the wrong e-mail address.....DOH!
see you tomorrow then Simon
this is my fave race full stop.
to prove it, I've done it the last 6 straight years - looking forward to number 7...
Bit short for me. But I'll trust Daz' judgement and give it a go. Probably.
You were right Daz, cracking race that was. Excellent route, tough but runnable climb and a great descent at the end. Reckon I did about 41-42 mins, pretty happy with that
Unfortunately my number fell after 2 miles, marshalls seemed ok about it so hopefully I'll not get a DNF.
Great race last night. I was with GazB at the summit but couldn't keep it going.
My feet were a bit sore after wearing my minimal trail shoes, but thankfully no blisters.
Simon Harding needs to do longer races than Wasdale with less time between races if we are to hope it will slow him down enough.
My first time.Great course. It manages to have loads of uphill whilst also being a very fast course. You've always got the climbs on me Noel ;-).Hopefully I'll get a full Moorlands team out 1 day,but 10 counters is a tough ask!
Great to see such a good turnout. It's a tough route but a good 'un.:)
Thanks for supporting it and see y'all next year...and at Teggs;)
glorious night on this one last week
record turnout - the "team challenge" seems to be catching on - I'll try to talk Stockport into sending a crew down next year
Will - knew you'd like it - as you say, bit shorter than you're used to, so Well Done! - are you doing Long Tour Of Bradwell or Bullock Smithy?
Yeah thanks for the recommendation, really enjoyed it and was happy / surprised with 19th place. Unfortunately the wife has banned me from Bradwell as its on my wedding anniversary and the Bullock I'm away on holiday. Shame wanted to do both of them. Might see you at Teggs Nose on the 3rd ?
Will - I'll let you off re anniversary, but there's really no excuse for arranging a holiday to clash with the first Saturday in September :w00t:
I might be marshalling at Teggs... (I'm doing Salt Cellar the night before)
what about HP40 then...?
after my inexcusable absence last year, I will be there on Wednesday to make it 8 out of 9 years
Sorry to say, that whilst I am setting out the course with Pete In the morning, I am not able to take up my usual spot marshalling at Standing Stones tomorrow.
Cracking race and lovely setting.
Last year's efforts in the Lakes have KO'd my right knee and my back, so not in a position to run.
Enjoy yourself Daz...see you soon.
Perfect evening for it. Well organised and marked (even I didn't go wrong this year!). Thanks Macc. Won by Simon Harding after a battle with Jacob Roberts. Noel gave me an almighty battle for top vet for most of the race and we finished 4th and 5th. So felt, as always, like the toughest race going!
9th running of this for me tonight
red Fell Ponies vest
anybody else likely to be in evidence?
How did it go, Daz? I've never had the pleasure of this one. How does it compare with Wizard 5 or Belle Vue Racers Hit The Trail?
