Yesterday a slow 3:04...fluffed my chances of a good time by screwing up nav near BH
And there's me thinking that was a good time TT....
Is anybody planning on doing this shortly (nice and steady mind), if so please let me know.
Cheers
I am...probably the 3rd of april...steady
Sounds good TT although I,m not sure we both have the same idea of steady.
I'll be up for good friday Tony for a trot.
GOOD FRIDAY 22 APRIL
There will be a Spring run round the CVR from the White Lion, Mytholmroyd (now closed) - prompt start at 9 am. Everyone welcome on the run and in a pub afterwards. Full info on the web page below including the results for 2010 if anyone wants to have a go at any records!
If you do it please register your completion on this thread - name/club and time. Personal registrations only please (ie no registering on behalf of others).
Anyone training for the BGR is welcome to try a double :w00t:

Can't join you this time: we'll be on Lundy birdwatching. Later in the year I hope.
Just back from a roasting round. Me & Farmer Jim had a limp round in 3:56. We were going for a completion! He has just finished two weeks in the recording studio & could still taste the san miguel from the completion celebrations and I am still ropey. It was my first bigish outing since the last bout of being poorly. We were set for a 3:30 until Jim tore something in his left leg just at the last ladder style before the descent to Park Cottages. We limped back to the car glad to have finished.
Decided to have a go at this this evening. I found it hard work most of the way as it was only a couple of days since as I notched up a pb on its counterpart - The Worth Valley Round! Still managed a pb on this though so the new elite time of 2-45 might be just within reach if I had a really good day.
2-51 Idle AC v60
I am planning a lap (or two) or the CVR on Monday 02/05/11 starting 0800-0830 and would love some company.
Spookster
I was thinking of taking another trog round this on Saturday 27th. I'm just recovering from a virus so it will be steady going - probably round about the 3-30 mark. Anyone interested!
I probably won't be able to join you this time MM - I'm down with my own virus & I doubt I'll be up to it by Saturday the way I'm feeling at the moment. Post a start time though, in case I'm feeling daft when I wake up on Saturday. Cough cough...
Shall we say 9am at the Russell Dean car park. It will be good to see you there Rodders and if we don't see you Splatcher I hope you make a quick recovery.
A steady run round as predicted. An autumn nip in the air as well although it did brighten up later. Perhaps not the best time for doing this route as the summer undergrowth gets in the way but it made a change to go round it in summer.
I will do a summary of 2011 completions next month. Not too many so far. Perhaps Compo's time of 2-17 has blown everybody away and has shown us what a real elite time is!
3-33 Idle AC v60
Just back from a PB at 3:11. Nice mixture of heavy showers and wind and the odd ray of sunshine. Very slippy through ray gate and jocky gate. Broad Head nature reserve was slippy too! I took a tumble down the stairs in the bottom third. Still, all good fun. I Might even work up the enthusiasm for another double!
Just back from another round and another PB. just crept under 3 hours with a 2:59:37. If anyone is thinking about going, then the stones in the first half & past the cottages in Blackshaw are lethal. A tree is blocking the tron in Stoodley wood. Oh and the cottage on the left as you leave wainsgate has a pit/staffybulldog loose that can leap the wall. It was remarkably quiet until it was on top of the wall next to my face. Nice.
Rodders, thanks for drawing my attention to this one yesterday. I do fancy it sometime soon. Also, as my mum lives in Hebden Bridge and my sister in Mytholmroyd I could easily work it into a winter weekend when there is no race in my diary, and make an early start time. I will try and look at some dates for sometime after Roaches (Nov 13 - 15m 3700'). Anyone else thinking of doing CVR this quarter? Around 5 mile / hour pace for me I am guessing. Or my tried and trusted 'Compo (2:17) divided by 0.70' calibration method is another way of giving myself a meaningful target.
Here is a list of registered completions so far this year. Elite times are shown in bold. There's not been a lot of interest since the Spring but there is still plenty of time to romp round this before the year end if anyone wants to add their name to the 2011 completions. Only two elite times since it was lowered to 2-45 but Tom Brunt's new record will take some beating. Let me know of any corrections
1. wjr - 3-24 U/A (9 Jan)
2. Mountain Man - 3-24 - Idle AC (9 Jan)
3. Tom Brunt - 2-17 - Holmfirth Harriers (16 Jan) ***** NEW RECORD TIME *****
4. Spookster - 2-41 - U/A (11 Feb)
5. Andy916 - 3-45 - Saffron Striders (14 Feb)
6. Rodders - 3-20 - U/A (18 Feb)
7. Turbo Tom - 3-05 - CVFR (19 Feb)
8. Rodders - 3-56 - U/A (24 April)
9. Farmer Jim 3-56 - U/A (24 April)

PLEASE REGISTER ALL FURTHER COMPLETIONS ON THE NEW CVR 2012 ONWARDS THREAD.
No more completions so the above list will do as the annual summary for 2011.
I 'll start a new thread for 2012 completions so please post any planned runs or completions on there.
At this rate it looks like there will only be you and me out on it next year Rodders - but you can't get too much of a good thing can you
I will initiate one or two more into the joy of the CVR. Might try another double if my health holds out.
Meant to try it (honest) in Nov/Dec after Rodders suggested it to me back in Oct/Nov(?) but I ran out of spare weekends.
Will deffo put on list for 2012. Will probably reccie both halves (to sort out nav issues) and then do the round proper.
With immediate family in Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd I dont really have an excuse not to earmark an early spring morning start one Sat / Sun.
HNY.
These longer outings in Calderdale on the gofar site might be of interest on here:

In addition to South Pennine 39 trigs and the Upper Calder 13 trigs mention is also given to The 6 trigs, Magnificient 7 and CVR - all with links to further info.
please register any further completions on the "calder v round 2012 onwards thread"
