You did but I didn't let you in on the secret (on the way to the first CP)
See you Sunday and have a good one tonight.

Re: Wuthering Hike
Thanks for another great event Brett. Superb organisation and food along the way. I always look forward to the Jammy donuts and mug of tea at Mankinholes.
-
Re: Wuthering Hike
Yes, a big 'thank you' to Brett and all the marshalls and helpers who made it a great day out.
The course was fun, the food was excellent and all the marshalls were full of encouragement (even the comedian in the van at the last checkpoint who asked if we were walkers!)
Cheers all :)

Re: Wuthering Hike
That was a great day out with really nice people superb route and weather to match, and yes thank you Brett and team your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Re: Wuthering Hike
What a cracking race. :)
I think one of the best in the calender. Loads of thanks to Brett and the team for putting it on. In particular big thanks to the marshalls and the superb staff at the start/finish.
I agree about those jammy doughnuts at Makinholes - just the fuel you need.
See you next year.
The Joker, and yes Batman got away this time....damnations.

Looks like we've got 2 assistant super heroes on this forum? Robin AND Boy Wonder.
A duel over the fells is obviously the only way to resolve it? - with Batman as the referee. The Joker can marshall!
Or sould it be at night without headtorches??
Any thoughts on which race/terrain to stage this duel for honour?

Re: Wuthering Hike
Big hand to Adam!
I know he aint a vet 40 or whatever it says, he only a young whipper-snapper like myself, but to win by half an hour is just laughing!
Good on ya.
-
Re: Wuthering Hike
Whoops, Adam took over the number of a CVFR who had to drop out and so never filled in a form!
Amended now! (Will be shortly!)

Wuthering Hike-Haworth Hobble
Does anyone know the date for 2008?
I know its a Keighley and Craven event http://www.kcac.co.uk/?page_id=199 and this year it was 10th march. I've not done this distance before and would like to plan ahead - anyone?
-
Re: Wuthering Hike-Haworth Hob
15th March 2008
Entry forms available after Christmas here

Don't tell me it's cos you're too busy training for these long LDWA events?!!!
-
Re: Wuthering Hike-Haworth Hob
Errrr.. no, been on holiday!
-
Re: Wuthering Hike-Haworth Hob
I see the FRA calander has it back to 33 miles from Haworth Community Centre! Runfurther are still showing it as a short race at 31 for 2008, but presumbably the extra 2 miles will now push it into being a medium counter.
-
Re: Wuthering Hike-Haworth Hob
My GPS / Tracklogs gave it as 29.2 miles last year. So if it is 2 miles longer, it would still be short in the Montrail series.
In reality there is some sort of overlap between some of the races in terms of difficulty. The Marlborough Downs Challenge is officially a medium, but it's quicker than some of the shorts.
There were some pretty grim conditions out on the Wuthering Hike course last weekend. I don't think I've been out in nastier conditions than that for 10 years.

Think it's where the Brontes got their dreary inspiration from isn't it?

You haven't gone & entered hundreds of times under your pseudonyms have you Dom? Reckon if I buy Brett a beer he'll let me on the reserve list? Reckon I'll buy him one anyway - that's just made me think. Will that speed up the process or slow it down? Do you think he could swing a beer a week as sort of bribery to get the form out?

Dear Uncle Bretty,
Should I be worried that you haven't written to me yet? I posted my entry weeeeeeeks ago (has the entry form been out for weeks yet?!) and haven't heard. It is only 34 days to go (eeek - that might make you panic - oh no, you don't do panic do you?!)
Yours worriedly,
Socks
