If you're doing BS on the day it may be worth having a pacer/Nav man waiting at the top those supporting can contour round via the west wall and lead you down to Wasdale from there.

Yes leg 3 is fine. I reckon going via Foxes Tarn adds about 10 minutes.

It's not too awkward, it takes around 90 mins to get up to and fix Broad Stand so once the support moves away from Dunmail Raise you should have an idea of when to set off - there's not much mobile signal at the head of Wasdale so that's one thing to consider if the BS party is getting there separately. Previous threads on here have reckoned that BS is about ten minutes quicker than the other ways.Quote:

Going up Broad Stand was a big mistake for DazH and I. It was very wet, slippery and hard going despite being belayed and cost us in total about 30 minutes. I would go via Foxes Tarn if I was going round again as it's more predictable.Quote:

Thanks everyone for the recent offers of support. It's really warmed me to find so many people willing to help; far more than I imagined when I first posted here.
At the moment I have a full team lined up but things can change and I might be needing additional help nearer the time, especially if there are any more footballees hidden amongst my crew who are yet to come out!
The one thing I don't yet have sorted is someone to rope Broad Stand and a navigator for the top section beyond it; but as I'm yet to recce the route and it's debatable whether it's the best route to take, it's too early to arrange anything.

My skills with a rope aren't what they used to be so I can't offer support there. Keep me in mind if you need additional support though as I have limited free time but would be available that weekend from Friday evening onwards.
