Just got back, great little race. Both kids did the junior races. The youngest only turned 6 a couple of weeks ago so this was his first "official" race. He did much better than he has ever done when we have run round with him - you therefore have to assume he was letting us keep up with him  Wasn't expecting that for a few years yet.
Enjoyed the senior race as well - and the Lower valley Brewery Beer was excellent. Great idea to be able to support the small local brewery particularly as their beer is so nice :Dlittle valley brewery
Thanks to all involved in putting the race on
remember he fell down the stairs. well i always used to
Thanks to the RO and marshalls (plus brewery; didn't get to sample their delights unfortunately). Great race but a bit warm!
Sorry Tom - didn't think to offer a lift, although you maybe wouldn't want to share the car with our youngsters and hang around for the junior races, but feel free to ask any time.
BTW how come you and Martyn only came second on Tues?
there were some dubious results and also colin was on his own hence a lot quicker and Howard knows the optimum route cos he organised it but n3rd is good enough. Saunders this weekend
merrylegs is a very happy bloke.
If you fancy a potter round this is a good low key event.

This is one of my summer favourites - fast, friendly, and a Little Valley Brewery beer stand at the finish - classic mid week race.
Would be good to see some of the forumites for a pint
Who else is planning to be there???
I've offered to marshall / sweep so I hope someone turns up to give me something to do.
G.
Might pop down the road and give this a go and make a reappearance on the fell scene, fed up of the old tarmac bashing :)
Its going to be sticky up there - assume heat wave continues - looking forward to my Moor Ale
Is anyone heading back to Robin Hood after?
I'm hoping to have a run out tonight. No idea where the Robin Hood is but if they serve beer and other folk are going I would have thought there's a reasonable chance I might call in :closed:
Robin Hood is well worth a trip
I'll be there this evening - so that Flightless Bird has something to sweep :-)
A good fell runners pub, great beer - Timothy Tailors (and landlord kindly plastered the walls with Heptonstall Festival posters)

Six out of the first 7 under 18! The future is looking rosey!
Well done all.
Thank heavens I didn't race. My lad might have beaten me! He'll have to wait until Stoodley Pike next week.
