Well it's my son's birthday actually!
Hope the guy who jumped the queue at the gate last year doesn't turn up this time.
Everyone was disgusted with him. I think Pete James of West Pennine was his name.
Practice run 5.50pm Thursday. Race 7.15pm.

Re: Aggies Staircase on Thursd

Re: Aggies Staircase on Thursd
If anybody is free to marshal at the Tower then can they please let Julian Donnelly, the organiser, know at registration. Ta.

Re: Aggies Staircase on Thursd
Brilliant - absolutely soaking wet - running almost every step in running water! But brilliant - and Miss WP won the ladies race - but didn't quite get me this time:p

Re: Aggies Staircase on Thursd
Excellent race and managed to speak to a couple of forumites tonight as well. Conditions were character building I drove home with the heating on full blast in the car, I was pretty wet.
-
Re: Aggies Staircase on Thursd
If walsh made water wings, they would have sold out tonight, the climb up Jacob's Ladder was like running up waterfalls. Thanks to the saturated marshals and all the Dasher's crew. It has to be one of the best value races in the calender. A fine, if aquatic route, free t shirt, as much chocolate and sweeties as you can eat,, and plenty of prizes.
And well done to Witton Parkette. A remarkable performance, especially as you must of had to swim some of it. Take it the talent comes from mum's side of the family eh, WP? :D

Re: Aggies Staircase on Thursd
Glad everyone enjoyed the race, I was not around to marshal or anything this year.
Apologies to Julian for letting him down at the last minute, sounds like you put on a good show.
I was looking forward to having a catch up with forumites and getting back on the scene now I'm back running.
No swoop eh, he did'nt get into a fisticuffs with that chap he mentioned earlier did he.

Re: Aggies Staircase on Thursd

Re: Aggies Staircase on Thursd
Another big thank you to the organisers, how do they do it for 3 and a half squid?
Took 2 lads from work for their 1st fell race (or should I say canyoning trip?) and they were amazed. They've done the rip-off that is the Great North before so you can imagine.
They did ask what was with the pig on the t-shirt as I'd told them that Aggie was a local witch :)
And no midges! Well, almost....
Cheers, Ali

1. Mark Shakeshaft - Bury
2. Paul Guinan - Blackburn Harriers
3. not on results sheet - I think it was a Clayton runner.
4. Lee Passco
1. Witton Parkette AKA Beckie Taylor - Blackburn H
2. Deborah Gowans - Accy
3. Suzanne Budgett - Horwich
4. Victoria Burke - Accy
I am sure the full results will be up soon.

Re: Aggies Staircase on Thursd
I wimped out last night. Glad you all enjoyed it.
I spent Wednesday and Thursday at my son's in Darwen viewing the terrible weather out of the window.
When his in-laws invited me for tea how could I refuse?!
A nice meal, good wine and a good football match on telly was most pleasant.
Maybe do Tockholes next week (beginning to sound like Roger Rabbit.:))
