Well that's my morning's cycling plans scuppered - good 2 inch covering here. Looks like it is melting but no good for 2 wheel balancing this morning
Ady, you are very lucky to have snow we never get any more is the pity.
Definite feeling of deja-vu here - similar amount as yesterday morning -will it disappear as quickly though?!
Stayed with friends near Skipton last night and there's a good covering of snow over here this morning.
An excellent covering of snow here this morning. Watched it come down for several hours in the early hours of the morning. (Baby decided last night would be the night she didn't sleep!)
Off to Bones house now. Have to set of early as the car wont be moving for a while yet.
Lots of snow up here in the Dales this morning! Going to get the ski's out and head up into them there hills for some fun whilst it lasts!:D
Just back from 80 minute run in the snow. Lovely day for it, but bloody cold in the wind on top of Habson Moor. Fell!
Looks like it caught the council out as there is no sign of grit trucks. (If it was a school day they would have been out early so I would have had to go to work!)
Fell as in noun or verb, RR?
Fell as in fell over!
Had a drive up to Horton today to take wife and kids up Pen-y-Ghent - nice and steady.
14 year old scampered up in around 45 minutes:eek:
It was great running - great views.
Lot's of Snow especially the top 25% of the ascent.
Anyone tell me how much snow there is on either Great Whernside or Pendle at the moment?
(Promised a friend we'd walk one or the other tomorrow - her two options as both similar distance from home & we're hoping there is still some snow on the ground!!)
I just need to get rid of this cough I've had all day first:(
Cheers
MT
Any of you guys want snow you can come over here ( new Hampshire USA) and take as much as you like. Im sick of it - not seen the grass on my garden since first week in December
Plenty of snow still up on the upper derwent watershed. deep enough to cover the deep bogs, I can't tell you how many time we went in to day.
Just had some mega snowflakes here - a light covering but now stopped again.
Just hail here in the metropolis of darlo
I'll have a wager there will be snow for the morning seeing as I have a long bike ride planned early doors......................
Got the 12 stage in Catterick, and the forecast is saying that trans-pennine routes may become difficult. Trapped in Yorkshire  I'll end up gnawing my own toes off.
We've got a coach booked in at a pub on the way back - trapped in a Yorkshire Pub sounds better:D
snowing golf balls in gable today
woooooooooooooooooooooohh:)
Very cold and lots of horizontal snow going over Bleaklow today for the 4 inns, then beautiful in Edale!
(I mean beautiful as in sunshine and warm - not that I don't like snow!)
Sunshine, clear blue sky and it's white all over with the snowy stuff. Off to Kinder now
Got back at the right time today, it's blizzarding now.................(in Accy anyway)
Fantanstic online weather station at Higham close to Pendle Hill, just missing a web cam but great up to the minute weather info for Pendle area:

Snowing like mad in sunny Ripponden:eek:
We had our first proper flurry of snow in Cronton overnight but its all gone now. The sunshine today soon got rid of it.
Was much better snow in the 70's - big thick high snow drifts blocking your back door and blocking main roads - proper sledging to be had and deep snow holes to be dug, then come summer weeks and weeks of currant bun and sweltering heat and stand pipes. Seasons seem all cocked up now, has global warming happened that quickly?
Cycled up hills in headlong wind and much SNOW today.......snow joke I tell ya....bloody freezin and not much fun :(
Light dusting on the tops again this morning. Think might be in for a long day at the Calderdale Hike
First snow of the Winter here in Loughborough today. A few days ago I had been thinking of switching off the central heating at home, to protest against the apparent cancellation of Winter.
Forecast for the morning.
