Trying to be less of a nerd than Ady, why not enter "Barley, Lancashire" into google maps and bob's your uncle. The car park is nearly the same size as Barley itself :) so you'll be really hard pressed to miss it when you get there.
If you're coming from the M65 through Barrowford, look out for the almost hidden turning on your left (sign posted Roughlee?) - if you reach the turning for Colne on your right you've gone too far. Barley starts to appear on sign posts at Roughlee.

Midlander really... Just about in France....
I'll see what the weather's like, but I need to get off my arse and stop being lazy. Cake-based incentive might do the trick, but it would mean about a 7am start!

Re: Full Tour of Pendle - 19th
7?? that's a flippin lie in!
see you there then! ;)
9am gang - don't be late :D (of course I am woman, thererfore it's my perogative to be late - but then that's usually only because I got lost!) :o

Re: Full Tour of Pendle - 19th
A good run Emmy. Thanks for getting me out on the fells. Have to say Ady is very fit. Too fast for me. Have to also say it was worth it for the cake. Legs are a bit wrecked now. Whens the next one please?

Re: Full Tour of Pendle - 19th

Re: Full Tour of Pendle - 19th
Must admit, I was thinking the 19th was next week for some reason (the year's just flying by sooo fast).
Having said that, not run for four days as my knees - which usually only hurt one at a time, alternating left and right - have since Wednesday been attacking me both at once, in a kind of pincer movement!! So wouldn't have been able to make it anyway.
Is anyone else planning another recce before the race?

Re: Full Tour of Pendle - 19th
Well for those that did turn up  it left more cake!
Grand day out, 10 and a half miles and the 2nd half done.
Sorry Ady - I rivalled your triple salca - but you'd already gone so missed that too!!

Re: Full Tour of Pendle - 19th
I would have loved to stay out all morning but had a date with a Sunday roast as well as being at work tonight. In hindsight I should have had my cake quota before setting off, ah well

Re: Full Tour of Pendle - 19th
Good run, nice people, good weather and great cake!.
Emmi scared the life out of a weasel that was out on its
Sunday morning run with her impressive descending technique. :D
Also Ady's ascent of the final steep climb only to run back down
and climb up again while offering support to the rest of us
still making our first ascent was very impressive as well!
