Right O. Loads of good rides in the Ribble Valley and Dales. You are welcome on club rides or when I am off we could meet for a bimble. Perhaps drag Emmi out in her pink stead.

Ive been meaning to get my bike in for a service since i have no idea how to fix a bike - it keeps slipping out of gear, think the chain may be loose.

Re: Parbold Hill Race 2009

Continuing my quest for VFM. It's going well, an extra 10 mins of fun, fun, fun today on the last time I ran it. I'm gonna take a fiver with me, next time. Ice cream and a pint at the Wiggin Tree, followed by a little snifter at the High Moor, then roll down the hill, into the Farmer's Arms (I hope she's good looking!)
thought you did rather well considering you havn't trained for 6 months. well done :)

Yes, most definitely me, started doing it at Llangynhafal Loop back in 2006 and it's getting worse and can't help it now, not sure what the cause is, but I do find it helps.
I do apologize to everyone who has to put up with it.

I could manage doing both...but i wouldnt be competative at winter hill so i'll leave one for next year.;)

Re: Parbold Hill Race 2009
I can't do Winter Hill this year as it's my sons birthday so I have opted for doing Parbold instead. It was either that or do the Anglezarke Amble. With runners having to do the full Amble and no short course option I decided Parbold was the one to do.
I was ran last year but had a dodgy knee so hoping to do better this year!

Parbold Hill Race
not sure if it's strictly a fell race as I think it includes some road and trail, not sure as this is my first time doing the race. Is anyone else doing it this saturday? and is it a good one?

I'm doing it, my first time as well! Only found out about it today, a couple of the guys from the running club are doing it so I thought I'd tag along - if you see a Marshall's minibus parked up, that's us!
I've heard good things about it. I presume it's well marked/marshaled as there's nothing on their website about compulsory kit?
-
Re: Parbold Hill Race
Starts off on the road, turns into a decent cross country trail type race, well marshalled and marked and will be well supported by runners and spectators
-
Re: Parbold Hill Race
Yeah - i run with the club thats organising it (Skem) and it's a great race.
Was quite muddy in some places last weekend - so it will be interesting to see how it is by the weekend.
