Re: Keighley and Craven beginn
AS, where is this 'wine bar' of which you speak? Please don't tell me it's called 'Reflections'..?:D
The duck pond used to be a ford, the original crossing point of the beck, and what's wrong with a restaurant and takeaway or two? I believe there's the odd one in Keighley, too.
Aah, Silsden...great place to live. Not too far from the bright lights of SKIPTON!:D

Re: Keighley and Craven beginn
Sorry but this beginner can't come along tonight for another run out due to a crocked knee - looking forward to being able to soon though.

Thank you - I appreciate that, however I think you're the only one, given from some of the responses I get most people reach for a shotgun.
Oh and I really am taking a head torch and a book.

Re: Keighley and Craven beginn
for those not from KCAC planning to attend tonights Wednesday run, please see text below from club website posted by Victoria (nickname Victottia )
Victottia addresses the Club
It’s that time of year when all thoughts turn towards Christmas and I mentioned this to my Simon…
Until one feels the spirit of Christmas, there is no Christmas. All else is outward display-so much tinsel and decorations. For it isn’t the holly, it isn’t the snow. It isn’t the tree not the firelight’s glow. It’s the warmth that comes to the hearts of men when the Christmas spirit returns again.
I’ve always wanted to be Father Christmas. Think how easy life would be, buy one big brown belt and you’re accessorised for life.
So with this in mind, I decree that the Wednesday night run tomorrow – 16th Dec shall be the official K & C Christmas Tat Run.
Every runner shall wear some Christmas artefact, whether it be a hat, a pair of flashing antlers or in Russ’s case an Elves costume.
I shall, of course, be running in my cheeky Father Christmas number with the red stockings and my Simon will be one of Santa’s Little Helpers, just like he is at home
For those failing to come suitably attired – a £1 fine will be levied which I shall collect whilst administering a suitable Christmas rebuke.

Re: Keighley and Craven beginn
Problem with having two pairs of trainers...which to wear? Walshes or Swoops?
-
Re: Keighley and Craven beginn
Forgot to say thanks for the KCAC guys and gals for a very pleasant run. Not too far, not too fast, but just right.
Chips and cake was also very welcome! :)

-
Re: Keighley and Craven beginn
Yep it certainly was! (And Watto's shin's'll be reminding him about it for several days to come I reckon )
What a classic grand-kid (if we live that long!) story telling night. Had to laugh when someone said we should all rope up going up the snow-field top side of the waterfall :D
-
Re: Keighley and Craven beginn
Watto's a big strong lad but would have needed to be I suspect when the hot water hit his legs. A tough but brilliant evening
