Have you any idea when/where the results come out, I know they will post but I wondered when they might appear on a website.

I'm trying to get electronic (or any!) version of results. If I succeed, I'll post them as soon as I get them.
they are now on the fellsman site at
Results 2007
It appears I was running with Robin Price through the night.
Ian
As Ian says, the results are now on the Fellsman official site. The figures have also been incorporated into the Montrail Ultra Running Championship results.
Ian
this is a pic of Robin at the 3 peaks just to verify he was who you thought he was

Just a brief note to say all the Fellsman pics are now online at the grough website. I've also posted the full reports for those who haven't already seen them/received them.
There are 135 pics in all. Sorry if I missed you! Don't hide behind another runner next year!
All the best,
Bob
alright LS.
i was one of those cheeerful lads from doncaster!!!!!!!!! although cheerful is not a word i will be associating with that day. i was the guy with ankle issues (still the size of a melon) and chesty cough.
which person were you? i didbt get chance to speak to any one at the end as i had an urgent appointment with my rear car seat.
hope you recovery went well. im back running 15 miles now and seem to be back up to speed.

Hi
I left a pair of Alpkit red and black walking poles in the corridor at the school where the race finished. I've tried emailing the organiser but they are not responding and I can't find a contact phone number anywhere.
Has anyone got my poles or does anyone have a phone number for any of the the organisers?
Cheers
Hi Spacehopper2,
Well - cheerful might be a relative term compared to my own mood around stonehouses (?) Regardless you guys certainly helped me keep on, which is good because I really enjoyed it in the end - in fact it's only long distance thing I've done where I decided I'd do it again before finishing. Normally it takes a couple of weeks for the pain to fade (or in the case of the high peak marathon 2 years) enough for me to consider doing it the next year.
I'm still off any major running with a dodgy knee. I might have overdone the pain killers - but they helped get me round!
Shame I didn't get to say bye to you all at the end, but in the state I was in it'd been more of a grunt followed by a snore than a bye :-)
Are you still decided that you're not doing it again?
Cheers
Paul
yo paul
we are all going to do it again. the law of averages says we should get good weather next time. (please god)
we reakon if we go harder earlier and hit cray before grouping the story will be very different next time.
well done mate. it took character to get through that night.
[email protected] is my email.
we will be at kinder trog next week.
cheers

this event is vaguely on my radar for 2008, just wondering what sort training people do for this length of run, max length/duration and how often/many?
and anything else i should know
ta
Hi Fellsman. When is it and what are the details, length etc?
Should have said hi Straggler. Its viewing this whilst at work keeping one eye on whether the boss is watching you!!
62 miles, 11,000 feet and don't forget to count your safety pins.
Enter before April 1st for discount
Just spend as much time on your feet doing really long slow runs/walks.
Come the big day don't get caught up in the race to get a good position, in my book it doesn't even start until Dent, take your time, eat loads and slowly pick up the pace. Doing the Fellsman is about finishing not racing.
Do a search for last years thread, there will be loads of info on there.
IDP
thanks Ian, i've had a look at last years thread.
looks like a recee of the middle tongue section might be in order
this is a hard 100k, i know some top class runners that have had a dnf on it.it'll be a good challenge and day out though.
The Fellsman is a fantastic race - I'd recommend it to anyone who fancies a long day in the hills.
My advice would be to recce the route between fleet moss and cray (over middle tongue) and the descent off Gt. Whernside which can be tricky in the dark.
A few of us are travelling from Ireland to do the Fellsman in 08 - can anyone recommend somewhere suitable to stay? Preferably close to a good pub!
Thanks

The rules state : Competitors must wear (or carry) trousers, thermal tights or breeches manufactured for fell walking. Substantial trousers are also acceptable...Tracksuit trousers...will not be acceptable.
So what does this mean exactly? In the photos of the event people seem to be wearing shorts, 3/4's, lycra-type tights, tracksters...none of which seem to meet this requirement (although shorts can be warn during daylight hours, so I imagine 3/4's/tights are ok then too) but you need to carry "trousers, thermal tights or breeches manufactured for fell walking" as well. I would have thought Tracksters are classed as "Tracksuit trousers", so can I wear Solomon RAID tights? They are made for running...sort of....or do I have to carry some Craghoppers or Rohan trousers too? I have some zip-off leg North Face treking keks, but I'm buggered if I going to run 60 odd miles in them, I'd be rubbed raw by 10 miles.
Hi Jimbob
I wear Sauncony long shorts for this event and carry a base layer long thermal pants for the night section which you have to put on at the grouping up CP, However I roll these up so they remain 3/4 length. If i get cold i roll them down. if you are a runner than this is enough, I would imagine if you were a walker going slower and therefore spending longer on the hills you might want to take something more substantial.
I think if you contact the organisor you would be ok with RH treksters, I believe he is more worried about cotton tracksuits.
The other option would be to start the last section (Park Rash)before the grouping time limit 7.30pm like Mike Hartell that way you can be back in around 12 hours and have a beer before a good nights sleep:D
Thanks Ian, I guess I'll just chuck everything in a bag and decide when I get there and suss out the weather forcast.
I used tracksters when i did it a couple of years ago with no probs at kit inspection
You could try the village of Grassington were i live it is only half a mile from the finish of the Fellsman were there is lots of places to stay and some good pubs like the Foresters, Devenshire Arms, and the Blackhorse. Or you could try the town of Settle situated in between Ingleton and Threshfield were also there is plenty of places to stay and good pubs like the Golden lion and Royal Oak.:)
Thanks guys - much appreciated
Contacting the organisers - have e-mailed both the old site and new site but not getting any replies - does anyone have contact details for the organisers (other than PO Box / web form / published e-mail addresses)?
Thanks

I have had correspondence from Juliette Moor (Fellsman Administrator) via [email protected] email address.
