Thanks to Des and his team for putting that race on. Not done it before but knew the ground pretty well anyway. A bit warm heading out but there was a nice breeze on the way back.
Now to relax with a few beers and watch the footy :D

First, cheers to Des and co for putting on the race today. Couldn't have wanted better weather! :)
Fast race that and despite my best efforts I ended up sitting out for several minutes in top of Laddow, felt bloomin' awful. Plodded out again tentatively and got my 2nd wind. Will have to settle for 83mins, had hoped for better. :(
Great to see the bog monster population actively participating on the day, several runners coming a cropper in the peaty murk. :p
See you all next year.
First 'proper' race back after an 18 month break from fell running due to pregnancy and assorted injuries (Done a couple of short and easy fell races and XCs this year but nothing too taxing). Really enjoyed this one, remember doing Lad's Leap a couple of years ago in similar weather and am now convinced that Crowden is always hot and sunny.
Thanks to the organisers for a good one!
I've sent the results off to Brett, so they should be appearing soon. Bear in mind, though, I copied them from Richard Asquith's photo of the results board, so there's every chance I couldn't read what was written or I couldn't type what I'd read!
Apologies in advance for any errors.
Oh yes, it was a great day for the race. Well done Compo - local knowledge & navigational skills is what it says, so if you've got it... Hope Helen has recovered from her nose-plant at the stream crossing, she didn't half go with a bang & splash.
