Same here, but i often suffer with blisters on heels with most new fell shoes, yet never have this problem with road shoes. I dont think its 'cos they are cheap, I had the same problem with my mudclaws, With me they only become blister free once the back part of the shoe, which causes the blisters, has worn away and made a hole in the material after a few runs, then they are fine.Quote:

I find New Balance snug, but not too far off and have always been advised to go up half a size in those, but half a size up is too big.. Probably just my weir feet, so will just have to try em and see I guess :)
I will persevere with them then. At the moment they are banished to my cellar and I'm running in flyroc's and mudclaws. Will bring them out again soon.Quote:

My heel was sat too high in the cup so I removed the inner footbed that came with it and replaced it with a cheap 1 millimeter one from local shoe shop. I replaced the insoles too. They were flimsy and scrunched up. I also had to adjust the lacing, but I've had to do this to Inov-8s in the past as well.
Having said that, I really like my Mark 1s. Over 22 muddy miles on The Hebden they were comfortable and grippy. I'm intending to give the Mk 2s a go next.
Bit the bullet and bought a pair in my usual size. No problem, in fact a good snug, but not overly tight, fit. Had a bit of a heel hot spot for the first couple of runs, but that has soon passed. The grip is outstanding - just as good as my Mudclaws, and they are very comfortable on a wide range of terrain. I don't like the laces, as the flat profile makes them tricky to adjust or loosen to take off, but that's easily solved. They also seem a bit heavier when wet compared to the Mudclaws or the La Sportiva XCs I've just binned, but that's a small price to pay - just like the shoes really :)Quote:
