We only missed it by a few metres - didnt take long to get back up on track. Looking back did you follow us that low or did you stay a bit higher? GG is a top navigator to be fair - spot on:D

Thank you all for your positive comments, it makes all of the effort worth while - everyone at CFR that I have spoken to had a great day as well. I should also like to say a big thank you to all of the runners - the co-operation from everyone was fantastic which made our job much easier. I was starting to lose sleep over the potential for chaos at the changeover, but it seemed to go as smooth as I could have hoped for.
What a difference a day makes eh? For those that came up the day before we had the fells at their best, but the navigation would have been a bit easier. I've got a feeling that our team captains all got together and did a rain dance on Saturday night.:D
A few facts & figures. We had 154 teams due on the day, 149 started (so only 5 couldn't make it). 25 teams were in the 'mini-mass start', which was 15 more than I predicted based on previous years spread of times. Shows what a bit of mist can do:rolleyes:
We will be getting the results out as soon as we can, I think Martin from SportIdent has been working on them today but it was manic at the end trying to get the results ready for 4 O'Clock and, they need a lot of tidying up and tying together to get all of the splits sorted and the totals correct for the teams from the mini-mass start. Yes they will be on the CFR website as well as the SportIdent site. I'll try to post on here as soon as I know that they are on.
Did someone say that they'd videoed Tim coming down that descent off of Knock Murton? If so please get it on You Tube - that was something else! (missed the other top runners coming down but I guess Simon made light work of it as well).
Finally, looking at the print outs as they came in we saw some dedication from some runners on the nav leg - they missed out one checkpoint, realised when they got to the next one and backtracked all of the way to ensure that every CP was done in the correct order, must have added 20 - 30 minutes on their running time? I'm note sure if it was more than one team.
that was us, we specifically me as I was, what's now laughable called, the navigator - we missed 4 somehow. Did 1,2,3,5,4,5,6 and it added about 30 minutes.
The sad thing is, I knew if I didnt go we'd get disqualifed, only to find out that our leg 4 runner missed a dib so I suspect we'll be DQ'ed anyway.
It was my 1st nav leg. I can take a few bearings okay but I learnt so much from that yesterday. Some simple changes would have made such a difference to our times.
T'was a tough blooding in and I hope I get to do it again next year.
Hi,
I was in the Durham Fell Runners ladies team, and we're down in the results as 'Did not finish'. We thought we had finished - although our 4th leg did go off in the mass start. Anyone know if this is the reason for the DNF status? And if at some point they'll update the results to show this?
It was the first time our running club have entered a ladies team in the relays and we had a great day out. Really enjoyed the whole event, thanks to all involved in organising it.
Will the results be published just by total leg time, so that we can see who did the best on each leg?
