Re: Edale Skyline 29th March 2
Done it once and won't do it again. Found the decent off Grindslow Knoll very rocky under the grass which took away all the advantage for me. Pretty good at downhill pretty average at uphill.

Re: Edale Skyline 29th March 2
entered this any easier/tougher than 3 peaks?
lakes runner use to do a map but have stopped selling it, anyone have any e maps willing to share?
-
Re: Edale Skyline 29th March 2
I would say easier than 3 peaks as I got round this one but got timed out at the Hill Inn on the 3Ps. Very different races though and conditions can make the ES quite challengeing esp on the second half.
If you send me a PM with your email address, I can send you a PDF of the route. Not trying to be secretive or anything just don't know how else to post it.

Fidaleo> As the map maker of the 'Edale Lakes Runner' map, I'd appreciate that you don't copy/send my copyrighted map to anyone.
Egor> If you check in with Lakes Runner in a couple of weeks they should have some more stock. :)

Re: Edale Skyline 29th March 2
Why oh why have I just sent my chq off for this years' race. My thoughts are still plagued by the presence of Bertie Bassett and his previous incarnation with the oversized right hand from a coupla years back. Please tell me I was hallucinating. I don't do anywhere near enuff training to do this long stuff yet still find myself going thro' the motions. Mon next I just know that I'll be on line trying to get a PPP entry knowing full well that I won't be able to get the mileage in beforehand and that therefore I will suffer.

As those maps were compiled with information people unwittingly gave you on this forum, I'd call it poetic justice.
-
Re: Edale Skyline 29th March 2
No, I don't have the 'official' map just mine that I plotted on TrackLogs. I think it's ok to make copies of these but here's a free plug for their products anyway.

Actually Johnny I happen to know the route intimately so no information was collected 'on this forum.' In fact all the Race Maps are compiled with local knowledge so I don't know what you are getting at.

Bigfella> Thanks. Printing out tracklogs has nought to do with me!

Re: Edale Skyline 30th March 2
Anyone know where can I buy the race map from - the link earlier in this thread shows it's no longer on the lakerunner website.
Cheers

Re: Edale Skyline 29th March 2
I've just had an email from AndyJ (RO) He tells me he had trouble opening his door this morning due to all the entries that been delivered.
I think I'll put mine in the post this PM...

Appreciate your point and its duly taken.
In the abscence of an available map I can understand why people would want to share any knowledge they have of the route so they can reccie etc. Now we know it will be available soon all is well and rest assured copyright will not be infringed. Thanks for letting us know.

Re: Edale Skyline 29th March 2
That could be where you're going wrong - you should save your energy for the race.;)
-
Re: Edale Skyline 29th March 2

Not a problem this year as the Hobblidike is two weeks before.

I know he's had quite a few already, I can't imagine it will be full for the next two weeks but after that....?
I'll get Andy and the Dark Peak webmaster to put up an entry list on the website.
