In context I usually manage about 6 hours with about 15 minutes in hand at Pillar and Gable - timed out once just before Pillar last time it was a championship and a very hot day, but the crux for me seems to be from Pillar to Gable - it seems so easy for time to evaporate along this leg leading to a tense climb of Gable with one eye on the watch. To give you a comparison I ran Duddon in 4.40, Jura 5.15 this year and I personally find Ennerdale early time outs harder, the later ones much less difficult. For me in Wasdale it means I have to push on hard (by my standards) for the first four hours or so, not a lot of room for route error or for pacing myself if its hot which is my bigger concern, I just have to go for it and hope not to blow up. So I'm hoping for a 'poor' day weather wise. Once you are through Gable thats it of course but its still a long way back to the finish. Have a good one and hopefully see you somewhere on the way round.
