ok
to sum up
Concern was expressed about the language and comments made on the forum and that there should be a code of conduct by a new poster.
The person who made these comments was hounded out of the forum, with cries of how dare you tell us what to do, we have been posting longer and are therefore always right.
I pointed out how comments people make can be misread if taken at face value, comments made including ones that could be seen as homophobic, racist and encouraging people to falsify race entries. There was also an abusive post involving the c word on a thread about speeding that to my knowledge is still there.
Stolly got the hump
This moved on to who had access to the forum and themes discussed.
This then led to a discussion about whether we liked it or not the FRA has a protection duty towards young people and the FRA could be penalised if it was seen to not seen to put safeguards in place. Which could include a young peoples forum or banning young people from taking part, (something difficult and at odds with the FRA open to all approach).
young people on the forum got the hump.
It was pointed out we have all signed up to an existing code of conduct which most people break most of the time and the moderators do not enforce.
Stolly got the hump again
Brett will do nothing until there is a formal complaint about young peoples access to the forum and the themes within it and the FRA is forced to apologise and clean up or close down the forum retrospectively.
Fellmonster has a conspiracy complex.
Think that's about all.
