I think PLumbum has some paper copies. and the Dark Peak site has some of the more recent times but may be not every one.
Tanky didn't store any digitally

I've been doing it (off & on) since the mid 90's - it's the Tanky years really.

Any decision on moving the CP Ian DP?
If you didn't want to move the CP that far (and remove the option of going direct to the Birchen Clough car park) you could always put it just after the current checkpoint in the Woodlands Valley at the footbridge just S of the Snake Inn. But Yiannis's suggestion sounds great to me.

If anyone is unsure of the route
Follow a dark peaker, they know ways thru the secret marshes.

Did that once on the Downfall and ended up taking 2.5 hours :o. Found out later who he was and since I got to know him over subsequent years he's not known for his navigational prowess :D. Choose the correct Dark Peaker to follow.

Re: Tanky's Trog 2009 is on!!
'don't follow the dark side Luke'
I might need a few route pointers on this, given there's only 2 CPs! - have absolutely no experience of the area ...

to be fair the route to Crowden will be easy as long as Blackhill is clear. if not know the bearing off the top. Torside will be your route afterwards with no priory knowledge. there are variations but only if you know the route.

Re: Tanky's Trog 2009 is on!!
Me & a mate repared the stile just below wessenden head for those that like to take the direct route from wessenden head res to the a635 crossing. Black Hill isn't too bad as long as you get the bearing right just past Soldier's lump. The foot and mouth fence has now gone and the path to Crowden little brook has been well used this season so stands out quite a bit.

Re: Tanky's Trog 2009 is on!!
Bloody hell thats a baptism of fire. Big respect to anyone who does this in December. I dragged my sorry arse from the Holmfirth road over black hill and to edale. Bleaklow is awful dragging myself through those bogs.
20 miles done with detours for reccying. dont want to think about doing the whole thing

I followed your tracks off blackhill down to crowden little brook.
I'm going on a recce wednesday morning to look at a little variation to getting over bleaklow (not Rollick or Wildboar) if anyone is interested in coming along. I'm planning on looping back and doing the standard torside ascent to time the differences. (12.5 - 13 miles). Aiming to be at the torside car park opposite the sailing club for 9am.

Re: Tanky's Trog 2009 is on!!
Sorry Grouse, I've decided to do the sensible thing in not entering this year - basically it will come round too soon.
If anybody needs a support driver / back up crew I'm yer man. The only proviso being I would prefer to drive from Edale to Marsden 1st thing, before the start of the adventure rather than once it's all over. Just send me a Pm.
If I'm not needed (:( ) I'll be at the Gravy pud.

Re: Tanky's Trog 2009 is on!!

Re: Tanky's Trog 2009 is on!!

-
Re: Tanky's Trog 2009 is on!!
Zoot - there will be cars left at edale by people doing shuttles to the start so you can prob leave in someones car.
-
Re: Tanky's Trog 2009 is on!!
Well it's good to see you're running and fired up again Manhar. Get yourself to the Gravy Pud and enjoy the run.

Theres always people about but not at that time. To get to Marsden will be a 6.00am start from Edale.
If you can bag it up you could possibly leave it on Saturday Evening.
