I frequently see people in fell shoes fall over while I stay upright in my Hokas. My problem is that I usually make up significant time during descents while recovering at the same time. The Hokas wouldn't let me descend as fast as I would have liked, and the ground was so wet that I didn't really get any benefit from the Hokas' ample sponge. I'll have to be a little more discerning in my shoe choice in future. OR - get my Hokas resoled with a fell sole recommended by Mrs Stagger - now there's a thought!
