Have been weighing up the option of Camelbak compared to bumbag - probably go for the bag, providing the sun isn't cracking the flags.

Ta for that Manhar. I think a small bottle and some Nuun tabs is the way to go for me. No doubt our paths will cross at some point as they kept doing 2 years ago.

More generally, on this race's fave topic any advice on footwear..........wellies perhaps......

Having run around the full route in monsoon conditions a mere two weeks ago, the ground conditions are now extremely dry and firm. Its almost unbelievablely dry in fact! I went over Plover Hill yesterday (the arse end of Pen y Ghent), which is a candidate for one of the boggiest places on earth, and although it could 'take a stud', it was as dry as I've ever seen it with the normally thigh deep bogs barely reaching my calves :D

Ginge, Try running the race in the same direction as every one else. That way you could run with Manhar the whole way round...:p

we had hail last night

Did a recce of the whole course last week & was fine in my Roclite 312 GTX's. However, I'll be wearing the 320's on Saturday, which is basically the same shoe. There were indeed some fine bogs at the bottom of Pen-Y-Ghent !
Does anybody know how many drinks stations there are ?

snow this morning on my way to work in Bradford - quite hard but not sticking!
