(perhaps that nice doctor Barry will convert for me?) Mind you, the Slimming World plan is getting a tad boring, and my digestive system is suffering a bit so I may be changing my approach shortly.
Still commited to losing weight though.
Well done indeed PB! I too am struggling with the imperial - metric conversion. Looking at the table of results, the numbers mean absolutely nothing to me. Did a majority of us REALLY choose metric? I know what a kilo of plums is, but 55.45 of me is meaningless, perhaps because of the double translation of stones + lbs into lbs and THEN into decimal point kilos.

Come on now. We've had nearly 50 years to get used to it. If we keep pandering to people who stick with imperial, it'll be another fifty years before we make any progress ;)
I am intrigued by the people giving their weight to two decimal places. Unless your scales really are accurate to the nearest 100g (4 ounces)...

People give their weight to 2 decimal places because they, like me, weigh themselves in lbs and then convert laboriously into kilos and fractions of kilos.
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
A kilo of plums? that'll be 2.2 lbs, then!
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
I am getting it easy because my target of 70Kg is almost exactly 11 st.
I am 47 today (happy birthday Pat!) and I was taught metric for almost my entire school life. It is just society that forces me to use imperial.
Something I hate is using feet to measure mountain heights outside the British Isles. Feet are only used to make our piddle little mountains seem bigger. 8800 metres for Everest is plenty high enough with out having to use twenty-something thousand feet.
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Many Happy Returns Pat.
Have a great day.
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Just a smidge over twenty-nine thousand feet, I believe?
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Well done on dipping under 15 stone PB. Just to give you some encouragement, I did that back in Sept/October. I was 14stone by the time we met at Giants Tooth. Am now just a over 13 stone 7.
My new weight is 86 kilos. Please adjust table for me Dr Pat. Thank you.
Re: Overweight to Raceweight g
Nice to hear from you, MOTM. I'm looking at the long game here, so yes I'm quietly pleased with the way things are going. If I can just discipline myself to do some proper hill running/training, who knows what next year may hold? Or even just later this year?!
I should probably just make more use of our club nights to train, shouldn't I? excellent facility, people to run with...
...all I need are some shoes that aren't fell shoes!
