Brilliant night - apart from the penalty shoot-out of course, then again personally I've had little interest in Olympic football - even less than in Tennis - that said, come on McTim, go for gold tomorrow!!
I don't get the evidence he's used Witton. A 62 second last lap is far from impossible for one of the worlds best female 10,000m runners.
On another point i can't believe they're actually considering turning this wonderful stadium into West Ham's home ground. We host the Athletics World Championships in 2017. It'd be criminal if it was held in any other stadium. Last night was all the evidence you need to see how eighty thousand fans cheering our athletes on can inspire them. I'm not sure what they'll do with it in the intervening five years but there's no way it should be knocked down or converted.
As far as I'm aware, any user of the facility does so on the understanding that it stays as an athletics track.
Personally I wouldn't let a football club anywhere near it. I'd open it up as a training facility for local clubs to use.
When you consider the options for major events to be hosted there, I'm sure it can generate some revenue. If it loses a little, so what. Iconic Facilities like this should not have to or be expected to turn a profit.
