Aaaaargh.... zese grenouilles, zey drive you to despair
23 undugulating miles. Ready for the 35-40 miler on Friday :)
Just back from my 'recovery' ride... not too bad, slightly under power to normal but pleased with the ride... starting to think I may just manage the TdG as long as we go slow :)
No, we will all be kings of the mountains :D
Thanks Daz, not bad for a recovering cripple! Another 100 miler should set me up nicely for the Tour de Galles in July.
And as for Mr Hippolyte, did anyone ever tell you that horizontal stripes make you look fat:p:D:D
Daz, if, and this is a big IF, I decide to re-visit the BG ideas, will you do some pacing for me please? Won't be until summer 2010 the earliest...
Im sure i could
Im commited with pennine and others but as long as they didnt clash im sure we could all help out on a BG
Dont be in a rush to do it
You have lots of biking to do first. The moot hall will wait hANN.:)
There are lots of pacers on here who will be willing to more than help.
get yourself on some BG rounds and help others and you will find the camaradrie is fantastic.
Lovely ride this aft over to Gargrave for a brew and then Airton and up onto the moors via a single track tarmac road that eventually drops you down into Settle via a 1 in 5. The views are fantastic as you get onto the tops. Back via the quite lanes to Sawley & Clitheroe. Around 65 miles at a brisk pace on mi tod.
Another 60 odd kms in the bag... Legs still felt a little heavy after Sundays efforts, but all in all a good ride. BEAUTIFUL, still, sunny evening... decide to ride over to Usk/Monmouth way again, as the valleys are open there, so I could take full advantage of the evening sun.
Bit of an insect fest again riding back into my own valley... It is that regid river Monnow... Mind you, as a result, the other wildlife that feeds on insects is plebtyful, especially small songbirds :)
Ok. :)
Well if they die at 50 miles out you're buggered as you've still the 50 to ride back again
Sound lovely Han.
No cycling for me today BUT.......... I taught my daughter to ride without the stabilisers!! RESULT :D
Are you free for a ride ML or are you in work that day?
Very thorough spreadsheet that Toffer! Would love to come down for a stage if I can work out some logistics.
It would be great if you could make a guest star appearance. Have a think and maybe we can help with the logistics.
Today was a glorious day to be out in the South Wales valleys. A steady 50 miles with 3 cols this afternoon. And as I indulged in a large "99" at the top of the Bwlch a most surreal experience.......on the long climb I had been buzzed by an old blue Ferrari and a spanking new orange Murchilago as they went up and down taking up the whole road doing some Top Gearesque filming. They too stopped at the top and as I admired the Lambo my humble Italian bike became the centre of attention for the film boys:cool:
