10, boring, K on the treadmill last night. Sore knees. The gym instructor told me to try cider vinegar & honey ! Anybody tried this ?
8 mile run to Capel from Dolwddelan today - lovely weather, first longish run since the welsh 1000m (short) the other week. Hard to get going but felt ok.
What do you do with the cider vinegar and honey? is it an internal or external remedy?
Internal !! A shot of cider vinegar to 2 teaspoons of honey. Got the ingredients, just haven't plucked up the courage to drink it yet !
I am sure it will be fine - just googled it and found this http://lacetoleather.com/wondrugpag3.html
Nice one ESW. Hope it doesn't turn me into an alcoholic though !
trying to protect my achilles, so I tried something new:
got on the cross-trainer in the gym (or 'nordic skiiing machine', whatever), turned the incline / resistance right up and didn't use the poles, just the legs
felt like it worked anyway, specially if the dustbin-lid sized pool of sweat on the floor was anything to go by ....
6ml / 800ft on Ilkley Moor. Good to see Trimm Tramm out and going well :)
7m/1000ft home from work, saw some curlews and hares and imagined my dog was with me, 3 weeks from now she'll be clear for walks, be a nice warm down after a run to go for a pleasant pooch poddle:)

Oh if life was so simple, i suffer from Achilles tendon bursitis, so if i run on say a Monday, its Thursday before i can run again, well i can run but the pain is well not nice!
So as part of my 2 year plan i have to substitute the running and get wet. hence the swimming 200 lengths a week
But this weekend in true Amex style i am running the midsummer madness 3 races 3 days not much i know, as in distance or height, but it will hurt.
Why i hear you cry, as Mrs amex says you daft bugger why hurt yourself---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fell running gives me things in life that i just cannot find anywhere else

Thanks mate, sorry to hear that but at least you have a plan! And the swimming should give you an Ian Thorpe type body, maybe...
