Wigan Athletic reached the FA Cup final for the first time in their 81-year history with a deserved victory over Championship side Millwall at Wembley in a match marred by serious crowd violence.

A lot of Wigan fans were ringing 5 live last night saying that they were not happy with the performance of the Met Police.
The Met are probably keeping their kicking Boots and Truncheons back for the decent folk protesting at the Funeral Wednesday.
Re: Tonight's football thread
Its a shame for Millwall, the club. They seem to be really trying to clean up their act, promoting a family atmosphere at home. As at Leeds there just appears to be a hard core of idiots that come out of the woodwork! The team has a good reputation as battlers that can play a little bit and Kenny Jacket seems a decent, smart guy too. The daft thing is that they seemed to be fighting amongst themselves!!?
Re: Tonight's football thread
Good performance that by Sunderland, 3 good goals and the 3rd one was a cracker. Paulo will need his suit cleaning but at least he managed to keep his celebrations two-handed and after beating Newcastle 3-0 he will probably get a statue outside the ground
Stoke v Man Utd up next then Chelsea v Man City a full day's football from the armchair today  .
Re: Tonight's football thread
ooops! forget that about the two-handed salute he is performing again
Re: Tonight's football thread
I have yet to receive a convincing counter argument to my belief that Stoke City are a rugby yawnion club in disguise.
Re: Tonight's football thread
Not sure what to watch....Chelsea n City, or Muppets From Space. Er...Muppets wins.
Re: Tonight's football thread
Excellent first half  Not sure about the City keeper though ?

Agree, he does look weak and out of place.
