And when the clag comes down?
Not trying to get on your back at all though. But, you should come and do some AIRE events for practise. It soon sharpens you up - made a big difference to my ability. We have quite a few fell runners who are AIRE members. I know SYO also have a lot of good fell runners who run for DPFR.

If the clag comes down I'll get the compass out then and have a crack. You're not getting my back up at all, I just place more emphasis on racing rather than navigating because that's usually more relevant.

We need to bring along a bothy bag just in case the weather is really grim - any suggestions as to a lightweight/low volume one most welcome.
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Do people normally train for this, or should I just turn up and give it a go? It can't be that hard surely.

I got one of these based on recommendations in another forum thread. Was smaller than an apple went I got it, but being inquisative I took it out to have a look, it now packs down to the size 2 small apples - how do these guy pack things so small! Anyhow I normally run with a small back pack and space isn't too much of an issue - those who prefer a bumbag might need to hone their repacking skills

I seem to remember your strategy also involved some break dancing

It wasn't really part of my strategy.... Having said that, I'm not sure I even had a strategy.
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Do we know if the reserve list is available anywhere or the likelihood of anyone on the list getting a place? Will there be an assumption (as in other races) of a percentage dropout therefore the 1st how-many-runners in on the waiting list will get a place?
Many Thanks.
