why didn't you call, I was sat at home minutes from there entertaining kids, it would have been a great excuse....
Fancy a jog round Bleaklow...?

Sorry - was planned on 10 minutes notice as I had to collect the dog from the vets...
Bleaklow's somewhat outside my "getting back if labour starts" radius, but if you want a run on Strines, Stanage or similarly close to Sheffield hilly bits then let me know.
90 minutes over Bleaklow from Glossop, took in some new ground that I'd not been to an some old ground Glorious early morning run.
Only saw one other group out- 6-7 Glossopdale runners on a TT recce inc John 4of5
10m/2000ft then picked up dog from home and did another 7m/1050ft. Misty drizzly and boggy on the Calderdale way. Happy and knackered now.
Rucksack run with Sid. Halton Gill to Horton in Ribblesdale up Penyghent back to Haton Gill via Plover Hill. Slippy wet muddy run over Plover quick dip in the strean at Foxup put things right.
12 miles ish.
A bit of a jog this morning with a Paranoid Android:) He hadn't fallen through a worm hole to the restaurant at the end of the universe after all
Short session with a few uphill sprints yesterday - 3 and a bit miles, 2 decent sized hills and 1 short and steep nasty one (which had to be taken at speed due to the group of ladies at the top ;) )
Local road race tonight: 6.38 miles, 830' climb. About 45 minutes, feeling pretty rough and a bit sick so I'm very happy with that time.
5 wet, muddy miles with dog, bathed, dried and fed now, both of us.
8 wind swept miles over Bleaklow with AndyJ
i was up myself this morning ian. looking for my phone. no joy with the phone but had a good run up wildboar. 8.5 miles.
Morning run up Horsehead fell from Hawkswick. Lovely morning and a display from a trio of Army Lynx helecopters and a couple of Hawk jets as well, great run.
12 miles ish.
Over a thousand foot.
Bu&&er! some one has complained and I know only have 3 minutes start.
Gentle jog over Bleaklow, very windy and very wet under foot, all the streams are in spate. Probably wouldn't have gone out but Nicky wanted some fresh air.
2 others were out on WBC on a Tanky recce, didn't see them but the tracks were fresh.
7.5 miles and 1250' local run, first couple of miles I managed without the headtorch. Local yobs have been up there, probably on trail bikes at the weekend, and wrecked the cairn and left beer cans behind
Very wet, windy and clag down on the top, lovely jubbly :D
6m to work in rain but with a nice tailwind, 6m home also in rain but no tailwind, b@st@rd headwind, still, it's a good training, i think.
5 miles on the road. A bit quicker than I've been of late so things are starting to look up. Racing before the end of the year maybe..
Set out from Buxton yesterday afternoon with the intention of doing a 2 and a half hour 3500 or so ft training run for the Tour of Pendle.
Did half an hour and it was absolutely p*****g it down with no sign of improvement so I got back in the car, went home, had a brew, made some toast and opened a pack of chocolate biscuits and watched the football.
Does that make me a wuss ? and will a repeat lead to a ban from this forum ?
Pen-Y-Fan race route with the dog.
A short 3.6 miles, 1850 elevation gain in 45 minutes.
Disappointingly 2:30 minutes slower than the race but the top and north side was covered in snow with a strong, bitterly cold wind. I reckon if I took a sledge I could have been down in 30 seconds ! :w00t:
Very wet and slippy underfoot going up & down. Dog did not look too impressed being washed in a cold stream after either. :o
16 beautiful, bog filled miles on Ilkley/Baildon/Burley/Addingham Moors yesterday. Final long 'un before T.O.P next weekend.
1 hour plod with dog, hoped to get a long one in today but no time, going to suffer like a dog at FTOP next weekend, still, won't be the first time:wink:
A tad under 7 up the old PW from Marsden to the A635 & Back. First outing since the dreaded man flu!

Hope to be back into the swing of things before Tankys!
Nice one Rodders, the run and the Youtube clip:wink:
Yesterdays run was Club champs over Bleaklow Flat out all the way 7.5 miles 1950ft 1.17.03 hours. 7/71 over all but way behind Oli J in 1.02.12, Fantastic effort. Plenty of Forumites out there too. cracking race
DP now have a tab on results page where it shows the routes of those wearing /carrying GPS. Interesting to see route choices and those that wander off route. http://www.dpfr.org.uk/index.php#/results/race/2425
180 squads and a bit of work on my wobble-board. I'm wobbling more than usual :o
Is that a bit like when Homer Simpson gets his tummy slapped?
You need a telly!
A fabulous 2 hour run over the cliffs from Seaton to Branscombe via Beer. The tide was on the way out so I got a bonus of about a mile on the beach. A gorgeous fresh sunny autumn day, and lots of lovely comments from walkers
Brisk hour or so on Hobson Moor with a fellow Pennine. Weather was foul and freezing but had a cracking run all the same!
went out on a hilly road session with a few DPers inc Green flash. Very wet and cold. reckon I hit stage 1 Hypothermia. hadn't eaten enough and or had enough clothes on. I'm sat here with 4 fleeces on and a hat and still feel rough.
Don't know how far or how much climbing, TBH I don't care, I feel shit. Bed calls
even tiggers lose there bounce sometimes....
Blimey Ian, take it steady mate. I'll be there next week to chase you up them thar hills.
Training tonight was two pints of Guinness. Well, I've battered the running this weekend so thought I'd swap over to my favourite type of carb loading in advance of Pendle :o
I've entered Pendle last week and then got very lazy.
1 run in a week not the best preparation. Must get out tonight
