Steve might need to take a red one of your hands to go with the shocking pink - I am sure you forced me to buy that one!
PS good to see you in Keswick on Saturday. Hope the ride back to Castlerigg wasn't too hard.

Welcome to Kanga the newest of new ponies, This person is now the proud owner of a red Vest, he/she will look stunning in it!
Kanga when is your first trot out sporting your new vest bang on in a Rik Mayall style
Trig is busy see below, i will be wishing i was there----
seeing The Master has sort of turned into a pony in disguise should one of us try and sort out a pony race meet? where all ponies can agree to meet to race then come up with daft ideas the day before the race day not to turn up???
i think it would be grand just for one race a year to have lets say------------------------------ 10 from the Fell ponies club in one race???? come on i think the below is a bit soon (to come up with excuses) but what do you think?
INVITE TO FELL PONYS;NEW RACE - Heptonstall Festival - Saturday July 9th - AS (6 miles / 1500 feet)
Following the success of Heptonstall Fell Race in March a group of Calder Valley and Todmorden Harriers based in Heptonstall have been asked to put on a fell race for Heptonstall Festival. The challenging route starts with a quick run up the cobbles to the top of the village, followed by a steep descent to the Blue Pig. After the steady ascent to High Brown Knoll you turn tail and head back the way you came. Race starts at 11.00; Village gala, food stalls, music, and beer kick off at 12.00. Should be a great day out. Entry on the day (£4). Large car parking field (£1). Full details and map; www.heptonstallfestivalrace.org.uk It would be great if Fell Ponys could join us – see you on July 9th ?
Hi all!
Not sure when my first outing will be I'm really just training at the minute. Can anyone recommend something easy in the Rochdale area?
Kanga
10 Fell Ponys in one race in Pony Colours! I don't believe you can muster double digits! :closed:(now you must prove me wrong)
Maybe you could use our flashy new flyer to spread the word??

Im coming into running from a long distance walking background. Recently been doing some walking around Naden reservoirs and the wind farm. I can run about 2-3 miles at the moment, so once thats built up I'll have a go at running some of the Rochdale way.
Welcome Kanga! :)
I'm sure our paths will cross soon
Up your way, I have Bull Hill (14th July) and Hailstorm Hill (3rd Aug) pencilled in
my excuse for not doing Heptonstall Festival is that I've entered Wasdale! :w00t:
I'm also down for Borrowdale and then I might do either 3 Shires or Langdale
if not 3 Shires, my vote for a good 10-Pony Race would be Lantern Pike on 17th Sept - run off Hayfield Show, not too taxing at 5 Miles, civilised 2:00pm start, beer tent and everything...
Bradford Millennium Way Relay on Sunday - Heptonstall Hurriers leg 2 guys were on the tails of these 2 characters; Fell Ponies? or Horse-forth Harriers? Did nt see them in the results. Must have been disqualified; The one of the left has got to be under 18.

Amex, I have a buyer for a medium sized Pony vest. I'll be at the Madness series this weekend. I've been trying to send you a PM, but your Inbox is full again.....!!!
Or anywhere near any kind of tent if the New Forest ponies are anything to go by - guard the bacon, cake, butties.....
Is there a race perhaps in November or December we could use for a Pony event? It would give me something to look forward to when recovering from my op. Would it be show jumping, dressage or gymkhana?!!!
How about ----
Sat 5th Nov 2011 – Shepherds Skyline 6 mile 1000 foot
It starts and finishes at a pub, it allows Stef to get ready gives time for the Bother clan to get down and is local for most?
next event will be XOTF
Why am i in disguise?
Racing sounds a bit like hard work as ive got used to plodding for hours like a beardy freak now.....can that be my excuse or shall i come up with a better one the night before?
I remember how late you were for Shepherds Skyline last time....we very nearly missed the start!....can you believe that was 2007???
X
That's far more than most ponies have run full stop, keeps your eyes open for meets and vests, try short stuff to begin with and just enjoy this fine sport we have ignore the elite runners they just make us feel inadequate and don't follow ponies with beards they are very weird, we are a club with no rules at all which pi$$e$ a few off but hey, we are a very friendly bunch (as most are) again ENJOY try the web site at ukfellponies for out of date info, and beware some ponies speak with a funny accent sounds a bit like abooooooooooyt mooooootin i don't fully understand but Steve foster (merrylegs has) discovered the translation side of that!
Got my red Fell Pony vest in the post this morning. Looks brilliant! Thanks Amex.
Spotted! Fell Pony Marshall at Reservoir Bogs
Its a pleasure: ad happy Birthday Kanga x
The Master would it be possible for the Pony club elite membership ie you to say----- organise a fell pony series where we have say 8 races a year where we can gain points and have prize giving night at the end, we have no need to be that organised ie committees/treasuries, i can get the sponsorship for trophies it would just mean someone would have to decide the races, keep score, and well keep all informed? please please pretty please, Trig is very keen to have us at the Heptonstall thingy (i think its too late for this year but he is dogging me hard)
I understand the word's like organise committees are not our bag but we just seem to be drifting or should i join CLEM? but i can't do that as they don't make Vets big enough for me so tough you have only got me
I'm off down to Moody Mares to by a an equine themed trophy - see you on July 9th - first fell pony will be presented with some silverware!
Sounds a splendid idea...
Myself & the artist formerly known as Fellmonster are currently busy with another "project" and dont forget, the Ponies are run by the members, ie; if The Ponies want a championship series, they can have one....Ponies pick races, Ponies run races, Ponies win prizes.
If anyone would like to volunteer to run the website (its easy) get in touch and i will sort you out as Ricky and i dont have time at the moment.
Lets have some race suggestions, there is no reason why we cant run a Championship this year, theres loads of time left.
And remember, nobody is in charge, least of all me! (unless i win the trophy of course)
;)
I tried to get a Fell Ponies Champs going a couple of years ago, but trying to organise this lot is like trying to juggle soot
That's great thanks George, ok i volunteer to sort the race series out, it will be over a year and will consist of 10 races in total, it will finish at next years Midsummer Madness weekend, there will be a first Male, first female, v 40 v 45 v50 prizes there will also be a v born on 3-11-63 ;) i will collate all records there is no joining fee no rules just turn up and race i will keep an eye on results and update the series as we go along so anybody up for this??
Who ever runs all the series i have no doubt will have a good year, my suggestion for races will be final.
ok who wants to run the web site? or are we turning into a team? hmmmm
Will there be a Northern Series too?!
(oh by the way, I have been poached (not the egg kind) by a man in a white hat!!! :w00t:)
Oh dear but you can still be a pony he is as well!
I will put one of the races in your neck of the woods x
PS to all ponies as a trial for our upcoming series the first Pony race will be the new race HEPTONSTALL FESTIVAL!! Saturday 9th July / 6miles / 1500 ft Trig has beaten me into submission and he is making an effort to supply the first pony home trophy so i hereby offer to MARSHAL THE RACE WITH HIM and watch for any ponies if there is a turn out for this event the Fell pony championship will become live !!!
Come on Steve is a decent bloke who has put in a lot of effort for this fell race and even has offered a trophy for first pony.
