On my last road run (Mill Lane, Hazel Grove) I heard the claws of what sounded like a big dog heading towards me. The "dog's" silhouette was hard to distinguish until I realised it was a bloody badger - center of the pavement - running toward me. I'm. It sure who wag most surprised. It turned first and then his (very badly) behind someone's gate post.

I saw this while out locally this evening.
It happens each night.
Eventually, it will become too cold and they will go back home to Scandinavia.

Beautiful film, Alan.
However, surely it's the other way around. Our native starling population is boosted by migrants from Scandinavia in October (don't tell the Daily Mail!) and they'll go back there when it warms up in Spring.

A kestrel hunting the South side and a Barn Owl hunting the west side of Ashworth Reservoir.

Spotted woodpecker giving my Silver Birch tree a bit of welly this morning. A rare visitor to my garden.
